Misconfigured network connection

I was messing around with the windows new connection wizard, not quite knowing wtf I was doing (obviously) in a futile effort to get Remote desktop hosting to work (still not working but that's for another thread).

What I have now in winXP pro in the Network Connections window is a connection named "delete this fsucker" under the heading Internet Gateway. Its a very busy connection as the little zonealarm traffic meter is floored constantly (all spontaneous loopback). I can't connect to the internet if its disabled, and I can't delete it. I don't think I need to be running a gateway right now.

How can I get back to the more optimal setup I had before? How can I either wipe my network settings and start fresh, or get them set correctly?

TIA

Thanks for the links. I actually used system restore to get my network settings back. I was reluctant to do so because you never know what else it will break.

I've actually been running UltraVNC for a couple of days now. I'm finding that it is more useful than remote desktop connection because I can control my box that runs XPhome with it.
