Where do the republicans find these perfect candidates for every single office? Yet another real winner in North Carolina state wide ballot race:

So what are the exact beliefs and qualifications of the next person that is more likely than not to be in charge of all North Carolina schools and their $11 billion budget? First, a couple quotes from today's Washington Post editorial, then a few from above older article:

- Morrow claimed child traffickers and pedophiles are torturing and killing kids to harvest their blood “The evil, demon-possessed people who worship Satan have been using this to try to keep their youth,” “They’ve been using it as a drug that is more powerful than street drugs. … It is gotten through children who are being tortured and know that they are about to die. Guys, this is deep, it is evil, and it is real. It is truly happening, and we have got to stop it.”

- Morrow, just a couple of weeks ago, she informed the public that the plus sign in LGBTQ+ “includes PEDOPH*L*A!!”

- Morrow called for mass arrests of anyone who helped certify the 2020 election. "And if the police won't do it and the Department of Justice won't do it, then he will have to enact the Insurrection Act," said Morrow. "In which case the Insurrection Act completely puts the Constitution to the side and says, now the military rules all."

- Morrow had previously called for the public execution of Barack Obama and the death of Joe Biden and other prominent Democrats in comments on a since-deleted X account. "I prefer a Pay Per View of him in front of the firing squad," Morrow wrote in a since-deleted post from May 2020 about Obama.

- Morrow, a registered nurse and grassroots activist who homeschooled her children, ... is running on a platform of supporting parental rights and opposing critical race theory.
Ugh, one of those lunatic "adrenochrome" believers. You can bet it doesn't take much to goad her into talking about how the Jews are behind it.

Assholes who do "captive trophy hunts" should be sentenced to be hunted in the same way. Talking about the dickheads that get old zoo animals, let them loose and then they "hunt" them (the animals have never lived in the wild, let alone the place where they are let loose, and don't know what's happening). I don't go to Jimmy John's because their owner had pics taken being on one of these "safaris".

Homeowner goes all out with Taylor Swift-themed giant skeleton display

abcnews.go.com.ico
ABC|3 hours ago
Louellen Berger told New Orleans ABC affiliate WGNO she and her 11 grandchildren teamed up to bring 14 giant skeletons to life - 13 of which are different versions of the pop superstar and one that is dressed up as Swift's boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

Will she pop in for a treat?

I feel misled, only some of those skeletons are giant skeletons, many of them appear to be approximately normal sized.

Idaho Republican state senator says at a “meet the candidates” roundtable that there is no discrimination in Idaho.

Democratic House candidate says that’s not true and there’s a long history of discrimination in Idaho including its having been the home of the Aryan Nations.

Republican senator responds by telling the Democrat that her claims were bullshit and to go back where she came from, then storms out.

Said Democrat is a Native American.

In Yakima, WA, the county coroner (which in WA is an elected office) was recently hospitalized with a drug overdose, and accused his coworker who ran against him in 2022 of poisoning his drink with fentanyl.

It turns out he’d been using drugs he found on dead bodies that were sent to his office for autopsy to “see what it felt like”.

A "book-banning pastor" was forcefully removed from a school board meeting in North Carolina after he was asked to leave but refused.

He performs an act of “civil disobedience” by staying at the podium beyond his allotted speaking time, so he is arrested for it. Then he whines that he was arrested. Except that’s part of civil disobedience.

The pastor mentioned “My Princess Boy” twice. He must have REALLY liked that one. Countdown to the “book-banning pastor” being outed as either a child molester or as being obsessed with trans porn.

Apparently Boris Johnson got half-a-million quid as an advance for his political memoirs. Liz Truss got £7000 for hers.

Not sure how I feel about that. Is it an example of the "gender pay gap", an infuriating case of Johnson yet again 'failing upwards', or is it just a fair reflection on just how useless Truss actually was?

Probably have to grudgingly-concede that Johnson is at least a passable writer. One review refers to his "breezy Wodehousian persona" - which seems accurate.

Apparently Geminis are good at storytelling and possibly making stuff up.

A Gemini guy I knew told me he was doing a stint at United Nations as an auditor. Some terrorist came into the hall where he was working with others. While the terrorist was holding them up at gunpoint, he talked him into lowering his weapon and made him weep enough that the terrorist regretted his choice to point a gun at them and he was taken away by security in tears, fully ashamed at what he had done and ready for the consequences of his actions. And everyone else afterwards was not happy with the Gemini guy for engaging the terrorist in conversation. They were like, "That was an unacceptable risk you took. You could've gotten us all killed". He sounded really disappointed that he wasn't given a medal or something. I don't know how much of that is true and how much is made up. I honestly don't. But I did believe him at the time.

Boris tenure as PM was about 3 years. Liz Truss managed to last 50 days.

Chances are Boris wrote his himself. I hope someone else wrote for Truss. I hope the lettuce is getting a memoir as well.

I was thinking more like a character from the works of PG Wodehouse. Bertie Wooster comes to mind.

Of course for Johnson it's merely a persona - in reality he's not nearly that affable, and probably not quite as buffoonish.
