I am looking for some sort of program that will allow me to copy directories to remote hard drives on another machine like a network drive. A RAID system won't do what I want unless I get one of those expensive network drives. I already have network drives on other computers it would be silly not to use them.

Will Synctoy do real time backups? I want something to mirror files as they are created.

For realtime online backup syncplicity is fabulous. If you do decide on it could you let me mail you an invite? I get extra space then. BTW it works great.

Ok Guys I will check out these options. I have a copy of acronis trueimage which work great for creating whole disk backup images but it is a little buggy for doing short interval backups. At best it will update once a minute but it does not like it if the file is still in the process of being written. I get sharing violations.

It looks like SyncBack won't do real time backups either. It seems to have the same scheduling limitations as the other programs I have seen do.

to keep a real time copy of your hard drive going across your network would be pretty intensive. maybe do real time backups of specific folders, and the occasional disc image.
