Seems like a silly question to most probably but I've never used it and I was wondering if anyone experienced with it could give me some suggestions. Here is what I know about it:

IRC: Internet Relay Chat

internet relay chat is nice. mozilla can access it.


is there a #anandtech somewhere?

mIRC is pretty sweet.. if you know how to use it, you can get endless amounts of data or whatever else from it. just have to be on the right servers, in the right channels. talk to people who know it well. just gotta ask around.
 
It has a lot of uses.

Warez groups use it.
you can get basically everything if you know where to look on IRC.
Clans for games use it to organize stuff and just make their presence known.
some people actually use it to just chat :Q !
 
I used it a year or two ago to try and learn some of the file-sharing techniques but ended up just chatting. 😛

it's all about chatting real time with lots of people organized into different channels. i used to frequent dalnet and was an op in #C++... ahh those were the days...

it also has become quite popular for file swapping 😀

What are you guys using for a client?
I'm using trillian ... are the others (mIRC) better?

And how do i find good channels?
I have one very good channel for ebooks but otherwise ... 🙁
 
ive been known to frequent #neochat on undernet.

its so lonely without sully though 🙁

There is one MP3 channel I have a passion for on Undernet, but I don't have any others that I frequent. I would love to know of more if anyone would care to PM me or post it in the thread.
