Mirage over the water?

Watched the sun set as it poked through cloud cover before melting into the graveyard of the Atlantic (off the Carolinas) tonight.

It almost looks like it is boiling the water making clouds in front of it! :Q

I thought I would see a green flash (as this would've been good conditions for it) but nope. Clouds obscured the final event.

Still makes you stop and take a look at the beautiful things of nature that we often take for granted in our busy lives.

I've been looking for years and have yet to see one.

When conditions are good for such events by the time the sun sets there's something in the way. :Q

About 120 miles east of Charleston, SC.

Of course the best sunsets occur in November. In the wee hours of the morning the Leonids come out.
