saw these in BB, they any good?

They have been reviewed well, and are built like bricks, but speakers are very subjective.
I bought a set for my HT, and replaced the center with and omnisat CC coupled to a pioneer 1018 and couldn't be happier for the $. In the small, but decent sound category, they come out pretty high. Much higher WAF than other boring bookshelf boxes, and I put the rears mounted upside down (per Mirage) near the ceiling - they sound great.

And, I am at the end of selling 10 of these on ebay - made about $95 net. Not bad for a $500 outlay. After these, I'm out of the ebay biz, so feel free to take my place 🙂

I listened to a set of these at one point a long time ago. They weren't too impressive for music.

That said, a relative has their low-budget Spherex 5.1 set for his Xbox, and it works very nicely.

Must... resist... what sub do you use Greg? The stock or did you upgrade?

I have the stock sub --- bought the 5.1 from electronics-expo.com (auth dealer) before they raised the price $70 to $469.

For $400, its a steal. Now, the main knock is that they are less for music and more for movies, -- I agree.

I also think its worthwhile to hunt down a new or used OmniSat V2 CC for the center channel. I sold my 5th nanosat for $82 on ebay and bought the OmniSat V2 CC from crutchfield scrath and dent (it was spotless and sealed) for $212. A steal.

But, the bare set is still pretty high bang for the buck unless you are a "serious" music listener.

I listened to a set of these at Best Buy a few months ago. Of course the sales guy kept on trying to push the $3000 Klipsch towers that they had instead, so he kept switching between the two. Compared to the Klipsch, they were definitely a bit thin. But they did sound really good--nice and clear. They would be a good fit for a small theater room or an apartment.

I just installed a set of these (with the sub) in my parents house. For having a high WAF they actually sounded pretty good for movies. Definitely worth $250. Great for rooms with open floor plans.
