Miracle Blade, but does anyone else find it disturbing that it can slice through pipe?

i have the miracle blades...they work quite nice for me

cutco is amazing quality, but then again, i'm not into paying like 200/knife for most of my stuff...i have one cutco cleaver, everything else is miracle blade

You do not get a set of quality knives for <$300.. heck, you might have a tought time @ $400. Might get some decent disposable ones though. ;)

i bought a sabatier set for $200 on amazon almost 2 years ago

still sharp, though they could use a little work, a few runs on a honing steel before each use and they do damn fine work.

ive seen and used cutco, i am not impressed in the slightest, especially at the prices they charge for the stuff. you can get a very very fine forged blade at those prices that wont require much maintenance and will be a far better value. i know, thats what i did.

personally id say get these wusthofs for under 200 at amazon. fine set, and with a little know how and care (very little) theyll last you a damn long time.

those are very good too, hard to beat at a price like that and the knives will last a long time, i have a link somewhere on knife maintenance that anyone with good forged blades like the grand prixs or pro s series should read up on, lemme find it

found it, an egullet forum thread. its longish but very informative for anyone with a nice knife/set of knives.

wow the expert here.

You can get great knives for cheap if you hunt them down.

I have a set of the high end Sabatier's that were had at dimes on the dollar.

They are not $200/piece knives, but they are used a lot each day...my wife cooks like crazy, and great.

She added a Santoku/Hocho though to the set. That is her main knife.

Cutco is good for one thing and that's the lifetime warrenty. You can use a blade to death, send it back, and get a brand new one. That's the hotness right there. I like Miracle Blades for the price though.

Sorry to resurrect this post, but after reading it a week ago I purchased the Miracle Blade III knives, the knife block, and 4 additional steak knives off of the eBay "As Seen On TV" store. I paid right around $70 for everything, shipped.

After using these for a few days, I am very impresed! These babies cut great (a heck of a lot better than my crap pair of knives I had). They are well worth the $70 I spent.

Thanks to all that posted in this thread, it was helpful reading.

Bingo. Couldn't have said it better myself. I bought three sets of the MB3's a few years ago for myself and two other parties and they're still razor freakin sharp. They're weighted perfectly. The grips feel natural, easy to hold, easy to maneuver. The blades are sharpened on both sides so you don't get a curved cut.

Myracle Blade FTW. Easily. Ronco are like Acme Knives. Cheap imitation crap.
