Yeah, the overall construction seems generic, but the front layout looks good as far as airflow goes & that side fan...WOW! If that puppy can't suck some hot air out something's wrong!

I read a review for a similar case (250mm side fan) a while back and although i don't completely remember, i think the fan was actually blowing into the case. And with these large 250mm fans they needed a different mounting that made it seem like turning the fan over to work in the opposite direction wasn't possible without cutting up the fan with some modding. With a large portion of the side of the case blowing air into the case you'd have to be willing to clean your case more often than most of us probably do.

But, like i said, i don't completely remember that review I just recall there was something strange that turned me away from the case.

Besides which way the fan is blowing, it seems like a nice case with 120mm in both front and back. I'll keep an eye to see if anyone bought this and can specify which way that fan is blowing.

some of you seem to think that a bigger fan equals more noise, it's the opposite, it can spin at a slow rpm but get just as much cfm as a smaller, faster spinning fan. seems pretty hot to me

As others have said, this case appears pretty generic (and IMO kinda crappy) from the inside. The outside has great styling, but all the drive bays require screws from both sides of the case. The fans look like they have to be attached with screws, too. No thanks. My 5-year-old Antec/Chieftec/Chenming 1040 has better drive bays than that. IMO this is really just a $30 case with a big hole in the side and better-than-most looks.

Do the 5.25" bay bezels cover the optical drives? I would hate to see my ugly-ass antique CDR drive exposed.
(Pardon my ignorance--I haven't bought a new case in a long time. My current Antec has a door that hides the optical drives)

Yup, got me a C5 too, I may get this and use it for my fileserver case, right now it's burning hot inside the 1980 type yellow-white Acer case I have it in now. 😛

The first case in this review uses the same big fan as the case on sale at coolerguys. At a glance, only the brand name and fascias differ, but I believe the dimensions are also slightly different between the Typhoon and the case under review. Although the cases are not identical, the review offers usful information.

 op

NICE!! So very cool. This is the perfect case. If ya can't keep it cool in this beast, you can't do it with fans -period (time to go to water, or other more esoteric cooling). This is sweet, inexpensive, wow - Da|\|g thi5 rox my sox.. Bee's knee's kinda hardware here. I think I would have to fill this badboy with high-end max-flow fans like the spliffy ENERMAX Marathon Enlobal Fan's in the front and back, for a coolerific amazement of chilliness. Hmm.. There looks like space for a 120mm the ceiling there, where's my dremmel?
