Okay, a few months ago I formatted my computer to get rid of some problems my computer was having, now one of these problems has come back again!

Whenever I go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Systen Information it brings up the Windows Help file! ( Start > Help and Support) instead of all of my system information. The shortcut on the start menu points to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo\msinfo32.exe and I'm pretty sure it's right, but it's not loading the right thing.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Andrew

have you tried just navigating to the folder that msinfo32.exe is in and running it from there (not from start menu)?

Hmm, this sucks.. I would ask someone at Microsoft, but they won't help me since my OS an OEM version so they tell me to go to my manufacturer, which is really myself.

Has it ever worked correctly? I'm not on an XP machine as I type right now, but there's an option in msconfig to boot into a safe mode, similar to 9x. Try that. I wish I could be more specific, but I'm not on one of my XP machines right now.

thats odd, I just confirmed the location. Your shortcut is correct. Try booting from the windows xp cd and doing a repair

Could some one give me a run-down on the repair process? Last time I attempted to repair Windows I couldn't figure it out. It said something like "Enter the drive letter of the Windows you want to repair" So I entered "C:" and pressed ENTER, and then it asked me for my admin password (which is nothing), so I just pressed ENTER and then it didn't do anything after that... I don't know what I did wrong.
