seriously, not trying to be a d1ck, just trying to make the internet a better place
Isn't it quicker to not have to reload the navigation pane for every single link? This makes the pages load quicker too.
Yes, I remember when I was a novice I was thinking the same thing, but framesets are so "oldschool" and "ugly" (hell, even if you have an iFrame). The disadvantage is that search engines can't really see your links on the page because they're in a frameset, and won't be able to crawl through your other pages (or as easily) as if they were directly on the web page.
Another thing, it can be a b!tch sometimes because if you click on any nav link other than the homepage, it will send the target value to the main page but the actual URL won't change.
Go to your homepage and click on 'Contacts' and 'Finance', if I were to click on these the page below (main frame) would reload and go to that page, but the page isn't bookmark-able because you're using frames so if I were to send this to a friend I would get very aggravated (yes, I can easily right click on the main nav links but I think everyone is too used to copying from the address bar). Frames = poor usability/accessibility.
I don't even know how people on screen readers can cope with frames..
You should NOT be using frames. Sure it's a little faster but because of the disadvantages (listed above) it's better NOT to be using them.
Anyway, if you're too lazy to switch then the fix is below.
