Minor consumption, any ideas?

So I was ticketed for minor consumption. The breathalizer (sp?) returned a value of 0.15, but I want to fight the ticket. What steps should I take to fight it? Should I ask the officer to bring in calibration records of the unit? What should I do?

Before this goes any further, please understand that this is a spinoff of the speeding ticket threads. Although I was busted for minor consumption over a year ago, I did not fight it and dealt with the consequences.

Are you kidding me? He ticket you for public intoxication, too? They used to be pretty tough on underage drinking in Indiana from what I remember when I lived there. Good luck.

same here, supprisingly in N.D. they are pretty easy on it, have 5hrs of community service that was spent helping a network admin at my hs, all in all it was almost worth it 🙂 i mean, i learned quite a bit of useful information in those 5hrs.

Due to my cooperation with the police, I was recommended for no community service. I had to pay $350 in fines, take an alcohol awareness class, and was put on 1 year of probation. All in all it was not a bad experience, it just sucked getting busted.

yes getting busted what the bad part, but atleast i was with about 20 of my friends so it wasen't all that bad, i guess the worst was having to call my parents and have them come get me. they didn't care all that much, since i wasen't driving, we were all just sitting at a friends house having a little fun 🙂

You do the crime, you do the time.

they also tell us how fast we can drive our cars and where we are allowed to build our houses.... assholes.

You broke a law, got caught, have some punishment coming, and...you want to wiggle out of the situation?

Prediction: You'll grow up to be one of those people who commit a crime, denies any wrongdoing, and pleads not guilty in hopes that the whole thing will get dismissed over a technicality or that the jury will buy your defense.

Hopefully you have read all the posts and now understand that this thread served as a joke.

Don't be so pissed.. I got one for blowing a .02 (it got dropped though)

I think you'll have a hard time convincing a judge it was off by .15 🙂

edit: just realized this is a spinoff.. u got me!

when i was in high school, the cops 7/10 times came by and they just came in and told us to pour the alcohol out. Nice guys. When they left, we'd get more alcohol and drink. LoL.

they can ticket you when you're in the legal limit?? 😕
that's STUPID.
i'd fight it
that may look bad on your record.. if there is a legal limit, why would you be ticketed? that seems TOTALLY unfair..

oh my. that's crapola!!!!!

First of all, 0.15 is almost double the legal limit. I should have also gotten Public Intoxication, but the cop was reasonable. Second, it was minor consumption so there are no limits.

🙂

LOL!!! They're still doing the underage drinking busts at purdue?

Can you fight it? Hire a lawyer so you can pay even more money and still have the same outcome.
