Staples has the color laser 2300W printer for $699.
This printer has a manufacture rebate Here for $200 11/10-12/7
And a Staples rebate for $100 Here 10/14-11/13

PS. to sweeten the deal, there is a 50 off 500 coupon floating around.

EDIT
The same address for both rebates is because rebateshq.com is the party that handles both rebates.
The 2 rebates go to different dept.
Staples rebate: 03-63404
Manufacture rebate :03-66492

overclock, thank you for clarified that.

But they have different department/offer numbers. That's what matters.

(I thought I would just say it 4 times in one post instead of posting four times. ) :)

Both rebates require original UPC. This won't work.

Still, 450 for a color laser is pretty sweet.

It WILL work, just send a copy to Staples, they always accept a copy when there is a manufacturer's rebate as well.

The box has two original UPC, I called a Misissippi store, they said so. Last B/W minolta laser printer I got, which did also have two UPC.

It must be late and I am tired. I can not figure out the page yield for color print, maybe you can: Let's say "Laser Toner, black, 3,000 Page Yield."; so, when there are 3 color toner in the machine, the color yield should be 9,000 pages? Or, still 3,000?

Yeah, however, you also have to consider that laser toner last about 2000-3000 copies! How long do you think it's gonna take you to use that up?

1710517-005 Toner Black - High Capacity (approx. 4,500 prints at 5% coverage) $79.00
1710517-006 Toner Yellow - High Capacity (approx. 4,500 prints at 5% coverage) $119.00
1710517-007 Toner Magenta - High Capacity (approx. 4,500 prints at 5% coverage) $119.00
1710517-008 Toner Cyan - High Capacity (approx. 4,500 prints at 5% coverage) $119.00
1710517-002 Toner Yellow - Standard Capacity (approx. 1,500 prints at 5% coverage) $69.00
1710517-003 Toner Magenta - Standard Capacity (approx. 1,500 prints at 5% coverage) $69.00
1710517-004 Toner Cyan- Standard Capacity (approx. 1,500 prints at 5% coverage) $69.00
1710520-001 OPC Drum Cartridge (approx. 45,000 mono / 11,250 color prints- continuous mode) $149.00

Direct from Minolta site. High Capacity can last 4,500 prints! Unless you are a high volume advertising company, I highly doubt you are gonna print that many. And the drum, 11,250 prints! For me, that's more than enough. As for the fuser, transfer, treat your machine nicely and they'll last a long time!

With the starter toner cartridges it comes with, expect to be able to print about 1500 sheets. After that, if you need to replace all the toner cartridges, it will run you around $400 (which will print 4500 sheets). Pretty pricey.

Also, this printer draws 1,100 watts. That will make the lights dim in your room if you don't have modern service. Maybe even if you do!

Compare that power consumption to something like the HP laserjet B/W 1200 laser printer, which sucks down a modest 285 watts.

Toner seems to be cheaper than ink. My exprience, one black toner (6,000 page) = $100; one black ink (500 page) = $30; Drum for laser printer (per 12,000 page) = $120. When laser printer this cheap, it is really hard to pass.

I noticed that about my 1250. My UPS will kick for a second when the thing fires up. Modern service. Only a Dell4500, 19" Samsung and a Brother MFC on the circuit with it. On the plus side though, the 1250 at least, doesn't seem to keep the toner warm while idle and still prints much faster than my old Samsung which did put out a lot of heat even when idle. So I would not be surprised if the Minolta actually uses less KWHs but has much higher peaks.

You should not have your laser printer on a UPS...unless the UPS is capable of at least modified square sine wave output or better.

Unless he means the laser is plugged into the wall directly and it pulls so much the UPS has to clean the power.

Yes, of course you never plug your laser printer into the UPS. I am saying that if you plug this power-mad laser printer into the wall and you have your PC attached to a UPS that is plugged into the same circuit, the UPS will kick on when this printer is turned on (indicating how much juice it's pulling off the circuit).

I dunno if you guys know this but my dad owns a small business and gets tons of coupons from staples. If you talk to the manager often they will honor expired coupons or let you use as many coupons as you want at the same time, for example a couple weeks ago he bought 7 of those stackable mini book shelves and he asked the manager if she would accept his 20 off 100 twice and he got the bookshelves for like 170 bucks for 7...

So I think maybe I might be able to pick this up for about 260 bucks if I talk to the manager, its worth a shot.

Over a long enough life-cycle, laser printers almost always beat out inkjet printers in TCO. Since a toner cartridge generally prints 5-10 times as many pages as an ink cartridge, yet only costs 2-3 times as much, you get much better per page cost. And if you print enough or for long enough, even with the significantly higher up-front cost, the laser wins for overall cost. I'm going to try to talk my wife in to letting me buy one of these, since her LJ6 just died last month.

A review is here. The printer can also be had at newegg for $419 after rebate. Shipping is free.

The care and feeding of this thing is expensive. Page capacity for color cartridges is based on 5% coverage. Color ink jet capacities seem to be based on 15% coverage. It seems to me that one should take that into consideration when comparing toner/ink costs.
