Minolta 1350W Laser Printer $70 AR/AC at Staples

$179 - $80 rebate - $30 (coupon code xxxxx) = $69 with Free Shipping

Not bad. A couple of weeks ago they were selling these for $99.98. Was a great PM for OM deal (with $10 off coupon, $18 🙂)

the ink costs as much as the printer.

Toner, not ink.😉

But, that expensive toner cartridge should last a thousand, or several thousand (don't know their rating) pages.
Compare that to those cheap POS Lexmark inkjets - $28 for the printer at Walmart, $35 for the cartridges. 😕
Cartridge info from their site:
Starter: yields up to 1,500 pages (letter/A4) at 5% coverage
Standard Replacement: yields up to 3,000 pages (letter/A4) at 5% coverage
High-Capacity Replacement: yields up to 6,000 pages (letter/A4) at 5% coverage

So the starter's only half full; still, 1500 pages is more than I'd ever get out of an inkjet cartridge. 😛

Fair warning though, like the 1250W, which I have, the 1350W printer is a Windows GDI printer. So don't look for Linux support on it anytime soon, if ever. 🙁
Sucks, cause I wanted to put the printer on a Linux based server.

I remember that. AND there was no rebate either. Everything was an instant savings.

I agree, I hate rebates. That's why I got this one instead of the samsung at OD which is $100 and $20 rebate. Along with the 21 pages per min and this is 1200x1200 dpi, the OD one is 600x600. This also has 8 MB.

does the drum ever have to be replaced like Brother? 😕

I hope not. I purchased an HP Laserjet 4L back in 1994 for 500 bucks. I'm on my fourth toner now and have printed over thoudsands and thousands of pages, never had to replace the drum yet. I've been taking care of it well so I wonder if that'll do the job?

original drum last longer than what it is advertised...

My Laserjet 1000 has well passed it's 2,000 print, i think the original starter drum was rated at 1,000-1,500

I think people found a driver for the 1250W when it was a hot item last May. I recall there being some posts in one of the threads and peeps had it networked too.

btw... have you found a way to refill the 1250W cartridge with toner?

The great deal was that PM Staples to OM and then get the rebate.
Net cost $20-$30.

OM shows my rebate is on its way.😀

Ditto here, was just contacted. My cost is under $20 (I lost track of exact $, it might be as low as 8...). Too bad I missed out on the 2300W deal. A color laser printer for under $100 if you got lucky on a PM. Hopefully Minolta will do another rebate like that one, although having $400 in rebates outstanding for a single item is what scared me off.
