Minolta 1250W Laser Printer $90.00 AR @ Staples YMMV

I was in Staples last night and they had a close out on last years model $169.98, with an $80.00 MIR. I used my $20 GC toward purchase. Bringing it down to around $70.00 AR. The specs. look very close to the new 1350W listed in there Feb. Catalog (page 39). I didn't see it listed on-line. So this is a YMMV kind of a thing. My receipt says 493542 for the item. The cartridges are around $90. @ around 2400 copies per cart.? I just went with the starter cartridge that comes with it. Around 500 to 600. I figure that will last awhile. Anyone have an opinion on these printers?

I have the 1250W and the 1350W.

1350W is faster printer, looks better, same cartridges for both. Not bad printers over all I'm quite impressed with them.

I got my 1250W for around $40AR and 1350W $10AR I got both within the past 2 months too.

Same here, I picked up the 1350w for about 20 bucks AR a couple weeks ago, right now I have 2 1250's and 2 1350's MINOLTA is cheap!

Anyways, I would suggest getting the 1250w (YES the older model). The 1350w looks better and is faster but the NOISE is reallly annoying! The fan stays on for about 20 min after you print (even if its only 1 page). On the 1250w, the fan is barely ever on. I like to keep my printers on all day and the 1350w is really annoying. I don't know what Minolta was thinking with the 1350w...
 
Thanks for your input. I'll be real happy with 1500 pages on the starter kit. I kind of went with what the CSR said about how many copies. I would have enjoyed getting in on the $20 AR. I'll attempt to be happy with what I paid for it and the secure feeling that this is a good product based on your experiences with this printer. Thanks everybody.

I have a 1350w and thing it is great (altho paid about $120 after rebate). I do not really notice the fan issues at all.
I just wish it had a bigger paper output tray (had to rig it a bit as anything more then 5 pages would spill over). I would defr. get a couple more (even 1250w's at the $20 price point 🙂
 
Just picked up one to replace my GF's malfunctioning LJ4L, nice deal! They had only one at the Staples I tried in Baltimore, and it was in the top stock, apart from the normal printer aisle.

Anyone know if you can refill the starter cartridge? If so, how much toner do you use?
 
Heh, I read "laser printer" as "laser pointer"......then 1250W after it....then for a split second immagined what a 1250 watt laser pointer would be like. Just think how fast those little batteris would drain 😛
