We NEED rain too, its been mid 90's all month long if not longer!

It dropped like 20 degrees -_-

Managed to escape the first wave without any rain. This second wave is pouring it on though.

I'm just listening to the rolling thunder. No exaggeration - it's been rumbling without a single letup for at least 10-15 minutes.

It was solid for at least 30-45 minutes here. It's not nearly as loud as it was earlier, but your report sounds right - it definitely sounded like it was west of downtown at its loudest.

As the strongest bow of the storm (70+ mph with hail) leaves the metro, looks like what's left is dumping plenty of rain. Localized flooding, especially in low areas seems probable.

Fortunately, my area seems to have escaped the worst of both storms. My lawn needed the rain that came through with the second cell, though.

Man, first your bridge collapses, now a huge storm blows through, and it's only a matter of time before the pestilence comes.

Bottom line?

God hates the twin cities 😛

5 inch hail? ouch, thats pretty big!

Sorry, I do sleep sometimes.

That was a fast mover.

They needed the rain up there anyway.

That was actually a fun storm. We got slightly smaller than golf-ball sized hail (I am near the 35 split northside). Wind took out a bunch of trees, power went out down the road for a couple hours. Twas fun, especially being a double header.

yes taht was fun, didnt lose power though which was nice!

My parents house lost electricity...which is weird. My condo was perfectly fine.

That was a fun storm though 😀

The best thing abotu the storm was when the hail started. My brother has a nice car, and he stupidly had his keys (he and my dad went to pick up acetylene torches in pine city [north ~60 minutes on 35] and drove through BOTH storms that hit). Of course, we scramble to find blankets and stuff to cover the car, and as the hail started pounding around us (bigger than marble) we got the car covered and we ran for shelter. It was an interesting night, and my brother now owes me.

That was awesome, I love MN storms.

It knocked out power at work, too, this morning. I had to patch up some system problems, shut it down, and went home at about 9am. FREE DAY! Not going to be back up until after my shift ends.

I work at the U down on 41 and highway 5 ... apparently the TC campus has a lot of power issues..a few people that work here were over there and they were trying to get through some parking ramps but there CC's were taken and the machines wont give them back...also wont let people in and out of the parking ramps! haha
