I forgot what the minimum is to file federal taxes for a married couple filing jointly. I tried searching on the net but for some reason, it is not giving me the answer anywhere and I can't find my federal income tax book. Thanks in advance

It is different based on earned income and non-earned income also.

The Federal rules may also not be the same as your local state.

It is always best to file. Even if you do not have to pay, there may be a credit waiting for you.

Also, it allows Uncle to track your income and possibly determine if any discrepancies exist with reported income vs declared income.

Fraud!! by you, employer or a third party.

EagleKeeper as always is a great source for tax information. I thought I might just add, that the best place to look for answers to tax questions is irs.gov. Click on the 1040 form or instructions and you'll get 95+% of the questions asked on ATOT answered faster than it would take to post a question.
