Minimum system requirements for Windows 2000?

What is the minimum system requirements for Windows 2000? And what is the "recomented" system requirements for Windows 2000? In other words at what point would you recomend ging from Win98 SE to Win2k Pro?

I'm not sure about the minimum requirements...check with the Microsoft web site for those. But Paul Thurrott recommends a 300 MHz processor with 128 MB of RAM. I would add that 192 MB of RAM is much better, since you'll rarely ever go into the swapfile with that much during daily office use. And, a TNT2 level video card (or a Voodoo 3, or a Matrox G400) is a must, with the new Radeons and GeForces being better; you need a good video card for the GUI to seem "snappy," especially if you like the fading menus and shadow behind the mouse cursor.

I think its a P133 w\32megs. The recommended is P2 w\128. Runs best w\256megs of ram.

Computer/Processor: 133 MHz or higher Pentium-compatible CPU
Memory: 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM recommended minimum; more memory generally improves responsiveness
Hard Disk: 2GB hard disk with a minimum of 650MB of free space
CPU Support: Windows 2000 Professional supports single and dual CPU systems

Minimum requirements ? I've got W2k pro running on 486DX/66 w. 32Mb and 1Gb HDD. That sucker doesn't want to boot with 16Mb RAM (stays booting forever), so I think 32Mb is minimum... It should run on 386DX, too, if you have enough RAM and disk space.... Dunno about optimal, you probably need 256+ Mb RAM and at least 200Mhz processor... bells'n'whistles doesn't come cheap
