Minimum of 5 characters for keyword search?

I don't like the minimum of 5 characters for a keyword search. Why do we have that? Sometimes I want to search for people/posts referring to me as simply &quot;andy&quot; in their posts....and now I can't do that.

Can you get rid of that limit or lower it, Zuni?

No, search by username if you need to find posts by a person. The problem is too many people search by t or the and those are ignored words and just eat cpu time.

Zuni....I mean that sometimes I am referred to in the body of the text.....can I still search using the username like that?

5 letters is inadequate. Needless to say, my attempt to search for SMC was fruitless. How about a short filter list to prevent searching for words like 'the'? Then you could allow searches with 2 characters or more without undo cpu wastage.

so i guess i can't do a search of people mentioning me by name...

or crap, or a post about asses... =P

anyway... oh well... i guess i can't do a search about one of my other favored foots... SOUP.
