MiniITX for NAS

Hi,

I'm looking for a MiniITX motherboard for my RocketRaid 2720 (PCI-e 8x) raid card. All the MiniITX boards I've looked at only have one PCI-e 16x running in 4x mode but I need 8x.

Is there any board out there that I've missed?

There is some boards with PCIe 3.0 16x, anyone know if there's a diffrerence in bandwith of a PCIe 3.0 slot from a 2.0, and will my RR 2720 work with it?

if your card only supports PCIe 2.0, then a PCIe3.0 will run slower to suit the card.

As to the raid card and needing a full PCIe x8 slot, where is the data going as in most cases the network will be a bottle next and so a high speed connection is made useless.

and a pcie x8 will work with pcie x4 electricall as long as the slot is physically large enough to hold it.

Found this board, Intel DH77DF but can't find any information if it runs 8x or 4x mode when using a 8x pcie card.

It runs x8 with an x8 card. The slot is fully x16 electric.

I got the board btw.

The lowest-cost, lowest-wattage dual core you can get?

An i3-2120T would probably work well.

could also look at the pentium g620t/g630t, they are cheaper then the i3's

I want to keep the noise down so preferable passive cooling.
