How can they say "Instock usually ships in 24-48 hrs"

And then say they dont have them in any of their warehouses?

I see there's a company selling these Sharp camcorders on EBay for $529.99 shipped. Text

So maybe this deal is not so burning hot as we thought.

Bottom line anywhere else its $850, so its a good deal compared to similar camcoders.
and the still picture quality cant be matched at the price.

Dude, this deal is blazing!

I'd bet big money that those Camcorders on eBay came right from Buy.com. You'll notice that there were no instances of this camera on eBay prior to Nov 30th, and they're not really being sold by any "company's". It's a guy with a .us website that only takes PayPal, and you'll notice that he doesn't even carry this camera at his "company". It's a guy who's trying to make money off of a hot deal.

Even the gray market shops in NY are selling this camera for $800+ This is one hot deal!

Other forums are reporting that users have received notification their filler item has shipped but not the camera. Watch your orders carefully guys, you don't want to get stuck paying full shipping price on a 50 cent battery.

The items are going to be shipped separately anyways... but it won't cost you any more. Shipping costs are already determined on your receipt. For example, mine shows $8 for the camera and $6.50 for the battery. Which is about what shipping for the camera alone would have been, they just split it up between the two items.

Stupid buy.com.. Item is "no longer available from the manufacturer" and I can't add it to my shopping cart. With Amazon I think you can always order something, they will get more of them for you. I have found cool stuff on buy.com that I wanted to buy but didn't need immediately. I saved the SKU, and when I'm ready to make a larger purchase there in a few weeks, I try to add the item and it is no longer available half the time. They must lose lots of sales that way. Happened to me on some Maxell noise cancelling headphones and a car tape to CD/mp3 adapter. They weren't free shipping so I was gonna order later. Missed out on this deal too!? GRRRR Looks like a steal although the 3/5 rating on ease of use is a shame.. engineers just can't make things intuitively anymore :( But gotta say the 3" LCD screen is awesome!! Most *ALL* are 2.5"

Okay, I won't cry then :) I just got an email telling me that my battery shipped. The only thing that ticks me off right now is that I paid extra for 2-day shipping on an item listed as Usually Ships in 24 to 48 Hours I ordered on Saturday afternoon... we'll see...

My CAMCORDER turned back to "Processing"..., while the 1394 PCMCIA card shipped. How can I use that damn card without the CAMCORDER??? While I am going out of country pretty soon, so if they delay a few more days then I am totally pissed.

Their number is 877-780-2464 I just talked to a CSR, no charge.

Unfortunately the CSR didn't tell me anything informative. He looked at the website and said "It looks like the camera is currently unavailable from the manufacturer. I'll have to check to see if it'll be available again and whether or not your order can be filled

I ordered Sat Nov 30th around 5pm EST

Somebody on another board said "I was just informed by buy.com that they are on back-order even though when I ordered it on friday they had it listed as in stock" which pretty much sounds like the same information I just got.

My CSR said he'd email me when he got the information. I'll let y'all know if I hear anything :(

Could you email me on how to do this deal.

Hi jack, Here is what I really wrote
"There is a way to get a Sony TRV18 for $400 shipped ($600 - special dollars and rebate). I am going to post it as soon as mine ships...."

The deal is simple, and others have almost pointed it (in the amex price match reply) out..... There is currently a $100 rebate on the TRV line of cameras (TRV 240, 340, 740, 840, 18, 25, 27, IP5, IP7BT). MSN is currently running their msn rewards 20% back up to $100 program. One of the stores that they run it with is mpsuperstore.com. They have the TRV18 for $563. Shipping to Ga was $36.84. The total comes to $599 -$100 -$100 MSN rewards dollars= $400

The thing is that you must actually need to use your MSN dollars in Feb. For me, its a cinch that I will purchase something later on at their participating stores...(circuit city) so to me the MSN dollars are real dollars.

Now, here is the scoop on mpsuperstore: look at bizrate and you will see that everyone dings them for giving you a sales pitch. The trick to mpsuperstore is 1) expect that you will receive a message or call from them saying that you must call due to something with your order 2) be prepared to say "no i dont want a warranty" and "no i dont want accessories". As you can see from bizrate.. they actually do ship what they sell ... they just shippped mine 5 days after ordering and 3 days after saying "no". All in all it looks to be a good deal for a fine camera
