And we are after all posting in a wishlist thread. Verging on the unrealistic should be what we do here, no?

Can't argue with that. 😉 Heck, my pipe-dream is for a small ITX-sized card (maybe even low profile!) that's fast like the GTX 970 or 980 but is low-wattage and runs super cool. No need for SLI if one card will do it, right?

The 970 already gets pretty darned close to that pipe dream! ITX size, relatively low-power. One would argue ONE 970 is enough for anyone! 😉

Sure, but I doubt you'll see that kind of power in low profile format for quite a few years still. LP is doubly hard because of the virtually nonexistent space for large fans (what can you fit in there? 60mm?. A LP 970 would probably need some kind of triple-slot cooler. Could probably be done, but I doubt anyone is willing to put the R&D into making that cooler.

I wasn't thinking SFF in that case... the GTX 960 is very close in thermals to the place where a LP version could be made.

A GTX 970 variant needing just a little less juice (single 6 or 8 pin?) would already be the perfect ITX cube card. Maybe a little more speed in that ITX (full-height) size and twin 6-pin to work with a 450-500W power supply... but that's being realistic instead of pipe-dreaming. 😀

Asus and Gigabyte both make shorter length GTX 970s with a single 8pin connector.

That looks utterly amazing. A shame that using an SFX-L PSU blocks the HDD cage, but I guess something has to give. Also, I see no mention of dust filtering, but at least that's fixable. Otherwise, it looks amazing.

It is a one man operation and he is going through all the proper legal requirements the EU imposes on electronics manufactures. He paid for the prototypes out of his own money and received permission to use the design patent involved from the Chinese patent holder.

There's no doubt it will be released, the question is when and for how much. There are people who bitched about the Ncase M1 costing to much. They need not bother if they want this case as the case will cost roughly the same or more the as the M1. The PCIE x16 riser cable that is being used is a $70-90 part by itself.

Hopefully the crowdfunding campaign for the first preorders takes place sometime before summer but who knows.

Why pay that much for a PCIe riser cable? You can get them for a hell of a lot less than that...

IIRC there are not a whole lot of options when it comes to shielded PCIe extenders. That and I believe bend radius was another issue. I want to say the developer tried several different extenders and choose the 3M because it was the best option for the design. I believe the other options were in $50 range.
