Whenever I see a movie with Mini Golf in it, the courses look completely bad ass. Mechanical Clowns mouths that spit your ball out, Godzilla that blocks your ball with it's tail. Happy Gilmore is a good example. When I see real life Mini Golf places they SUUUUUUUCK. The one by me is decent. Was pretty bad ass 25 years ago (or so I thought) but it's pretty cheesy and low tech. The ghetto ass one by my GF's place is the worst shit ever, it's old, crappy and boring as hell. None of the holes are even themed. I want fire and explosions and loud music and sound effects!

My question, I know movies exaggerate and make everything seem better than it is, but do any even close to as cool mini golf places really exist? I want to play on one with animated characters and haunted houses and cool shit. Where do I gotta go to get this movie experience in real life?

Since when do movies accurately portay real life? The Girl Next Door to me looks like wildebeest, not a porn star.

I think they just film those scenes at the coolest mini golf places they can find. I've been on some mini golf courses that were damn close to alot of what you see, so I'm sure the even cooler ones exist.

We have two out here on the beach that are amazing. They don't have the classic things like that though. Instead, one is called Pirate's Cove and its a lot of it is walking through caves and having to put over or around waterfalls and there's lots of "choose which hole to putt into and your ball will come out a different hole that might just make it in the cup or not" type stuff. They are a lot of fun.

Myrtle Beach, SC and the surrounding metro area is filled with large themed mini-golf places.
