Mini DV video ripper?

I got a Panasonic PV-GS400 Camcorder from a freind for a great price but it uses Mini DV's. Im not very video savy but would like to make wma or avi or vids from the video on these mini dv's. I can hook it up to my pc with firewire. Im looking for an idiot proof software that allows me to rip from the camera and put on my computer.

any recommendations?

Yeah, Windows Movie Maker is a good and easy option.

I tried it but once I got to a certain screen it froze. Well it didnt really freeze more like it wouldnt show all the option almost like a failed java app online if that makes sense. any ideas?

It's a paid solution but have you considered adobe premiere elements.

It is idiot proof or should I say simple to use. I believe we may have a eval copy at work.

Not as simple as movie maker, but should still be easy to do what you are wanting.

Pinnacle Studio (made by the folks that make Avid) or Sony Vegas Video. Or even Nero, if you can stand the software.
