Mini DV tapes

Slimline

Hey guys, I am having some troubles getting my girlfriends mini dv tapes converted properly to fit on a standard dvd. I use intervideo win dvd creater, and I have tried converting them to AVI. Will avi play in a standrad dvd player? Or do I somehow have to convert it now to dvd format. I am stuck. All the tapes have been set to hold 60 minutes of footage. Converting to AVI keeps the file size just under 4 gigs.

Any help would be appreciated, I really need to get this done. I have more tapes to convert, and dont want to do it until I know i am doing it right. Thanks,

Standard DVD player will not play AVI files.

I am not sure about Intervideo Win DVD creater but the other software like Ulead lets you burn it directly to DVD format.

Well I seem to have gotten it. It has been a while since I tried, and I guess I never saw once ripped, the tool to "create dvd" lol. It is converting it now, and will burn when done. I love idiot proof software.

Yeah, once it converts and burns this one, then I do the next 4 I already have on disk, I will check settings to see if there is a direct "tape to dvd" type setting. If I can not figure that out, maybe I can check out some Ulead software.

You need software that converts it from DV AVI to MPEG-2 DVD. There are a ton of apps out there, although I don't know of any free as in beer apps.
