So i just saw a Sony TRV17 camera and am thinking of getting a unit for myself.
Anyone care to suggest a good model to buy that has some good features but of course a fairly low price.?:D

Sony has the best Low light capability around..

I have Canon Elura 50 (bought from Dell for $390), and we love it. But it's not that great in low light..

If you want suggestions, you need put down the price range you are looking at.

It's going to be here tomorrow. I bought it just for movies of the baby. It doesn't have a flash card, so no taking stills with it. Thats what the DRebel is for anyways.

For the price, it can't be beat...well from what I've read anyways:)

I picked up a Panasonic DV852 from BHPhoto.com, its supposed to be one of the best single CCD DV camcorders out there (funny thing is, it came out over a year ago). The 852 sold for close to 1500 half a year ago, and BHP found a pallette of them in their warehouse...got it for $575.00. The DV953 has since replaced it, but its a bit more expensive...A few things you will want to look for

1) Optical Image Stabilization (better than electronic)
2) Good low light quality
3) Battery Life (buy a secondary batter on EBAY, DO NOT Pay for retail extra batteries...they are a huge ripoff)

Here are a few sites to look at
