hey, i got one of those little 3inch cd-rs...its only 21 min...i was wondering if anyone knows if i can burn it using my setup...like i shouldn't run into problems right?

Panasonic 7502B SCIS 4x8
Teac 32x SCSI
Diamont Fireport 40

I've made a couple of audio CDs using 3" discs and there are a couple of things to watch out for. Most software doesn't seem to recognize 3" discs as normal CDs, so while it will burn fine make sure you don't try to put more than 21 minutes of audio on it or the program might crap out on you.
Also, every disc I burned ended with an error. I suppose the program was trying to scan the whole radius of a normal CD and couldn't read out as far as it wanted.
I guess the last issue would be slot-loading CD players- don't use 'em. 🙂

Quickfingerz: they have a jewel case for the 10pack too...yeah, they're pretty cool, i wish i could use them in the car...they're perfect for like 5 of my favorite songs...dammit, i'm hella disappointed i can't use it in a slot player...oh well...

I was going to buy the new Ricoh 7125A burner with the JustLink (BurnProof equivalent) technology, but the specs say that it won't burn the smaller disks....

Small disks are so convenient, especially when you want to only carry around a small amount of data....fits nicely in the pocket.

JonnyJack, you may be able to use them in your car. I know my old Pioneer Priemer and my new Kenwood can play them. I burn MP3's to them and play them in my Kenwood X919 CD\MP3 player and it rocks.....

IamDavid:seeing you say it worked in your Premier (highend Pioneer division) player, i found my owner's manual and found this:

<< The built-in CD player plays one standard 12cm or 8cm (single) CD at a time. Do not use an adapter when playing 8cm CD. >>

i'm hella happy now 😀 BTW i have the Pioneer Deh-P2000...thanks buddy...

huh...a slot loader using 3" CDs....cool. I'll keep that in mind.

Inguyen, another cool think about the little discs is the "wow" factor. They make great gifts for people who've never seen them before. 🙂
