Minesweeper

A couple kids in my classes play minesweeper quite competitively... It's really impressive to see how fast they are.

For what it's worth, just tonight while I was waiting for my dial-up to connect, I won a game of hearts in only 4 hands:
mooned, mooned, mooned, and took 4 points so I could force one player to take enough points to give me the win.

Lmao... against my parents and some relitives it took me 6 rounds to kill em all off. This is against 5 or 6 people...

against real people? Or against the computer?
I've found that the computer version sucks... I just use the game to kill a minute here and there. I don't think I've ever lost a game to the computer players.

My personal best is also 7 seconds, although the proof has long been lost on a previous install years ago. I also won't believe any screenshots posted here, you can easily edit the scores in notepad!!

computer... I thought it was a fluke as they'll usually try to stick you with some stupid combo where you'll fail reguardless.

That, and you can cheat and know where the mines are before ever clearing a square.

I've had 2 or 3 seconds way back in the mid 90s. It's pure luck. expert, I don't know how anyone can do it under 100.

I had to look, just to see how you could cheat.

Quite honestly, I think that cheating is slower than just doing it.
 
3 seconds on beginner 39 seconds on the medium one 107 on expert. Learning to keep track of the mines without marking them gave me a big boost in all the times.

don't you have to mark them eventually?

I just openned it up after years of not playing it and got 9 seconds on beginner.
 
I've done 1 second on beginner (this requires luck, as others have said), 26 secs on intermediate, and 100 seconds on expert.

1 sec is shens...you have to put up 10 mines on the entire field, and that's no way possible in 1 sec. 😕
