It's a dedicated server located at The Planet which a few of us (AT'ers) share.

I am partial owner of the server.

I wonder what all the image hosting services together use up in bandwidth per month.

16 GB for mine this month.

Roughly 200GB per month which is really a drop in the bucket between our server, yours and DeviousTrap (Entity is getting a GNAX server soon).

If we pool our resources together we could have 5TB at our disposal 😉

apartment808 and bbzzdd use the most bandwidth, neffing and fox302 use a lot less.

damn 😛

The thing about my image hosting service. We really don't use thumbnails. We tried to keep bandwidth usage down to a minimum.

My biggest peeve are the freakin' idiots who post inappropriate pictures.

So I turned off neffing.com new user registrations since the old members seem to be doing ok.

It's a pity that one or two bad apples ruin it for everyone else.

Tell me about it. Luckily the admin is easy to use, now if only I had the time to do it as a full time job.🙁

Actually I'm not the one to thaink, you should thank Placer14 who is the system admin/billing guy.

He has done an incredible job considering it's a volunteer job.

That's one of the problems with Minendo's pic hosting imho. I noticed people from another forum registering and using his bandwidth for their sigs and avatars... it adds up.

geckojohn - Since you have your own web site now, I really should delete your account 😉

PowerMac4Ever - Yep sigs and avatars really do cut into bandwidth. For now I allow hotlinking but when the bandwidth gets out of control I'll have to start utilizing .htaccess

I've considered looking into disallowing some hotlinking, but we'll see how much bandwidth is used up this month first. I've got a lot to spare, lets just hope I don't run out.

I wish I had a pipe fast enough to support the pic hosting from home.

I promised some additions to the software that will limit the bandwidth beating but I have not gotten around to it. My head has been somewhere else the last month or so but I am getting to it.

No hurries and thanks again.

I'm getting this error with my fox302 account and the webmaster hasn't gotten back to me as yet. Perhaps someone here can tell me what is wrong?
