yesterday this camcorder was listed as a 100 dollar price drop from 799 to 699 at the brick and mortar (richmond) store, but it's listed at $599 at bestbuys online store. Pricematch the online store for another $100 off. (plus 12m no interest at brick and mortar)

Why not just buy it online for 599.99 and shipped to your home for free? Or if you prefer store pickup, you can still buy it online and designate "store pickup".

Why not PM someplace off of Pricescan.com at Sears B&M and get it for $460 (plus shipping)? And if you're lucky, Sears will be offering an additional 10% off if you use your Sears card. Then you can get it for $414 (plus shipping)!

You can't beat Sears for high ticket items that don't weigh much.

If you are a little slow and need a thorough explaination, PM me. :D

I think BaconGrease might be confusing the DC252 and the DC152 -- I think the former is 699 and the latter is 599, but I could be wrong (the 252 is essentially a 152 with the ability to do still shots and store them on an SD card)

As for Sears, I'm not sure curlykicker's plan works:
AT HD Thread

The best deal on the 152 is probably ~$530 shipped via dbuys.com or buydig.com (see pricegrabber.com)

I got the Canon ZR45MC for $400 by doing exactly what I mentioned. But admittedly it was done last June. I don't know if Sears has changed their policy since. I honestly didn't think it was going to last since you could pricematch one of those New York bait-and-switch stores that advertise unreal low prices.;)

The camara definitely is the PV-DC152 (no card slot, but will take stills to the tape, no usb on this model)
The reason not to buy online is purely for the 12 month same as cash... online appears to offer only 6month.

I don't remember ever seeing a camera that could send video via USB; you'd have to be pretty darn patient to even consider it. USB 2.0 would be ok, but I haven't seen a camcorder that supports it.

As for firewire, look for a copy Pinnacle Studio DV 7 (8 is out now). Circuit City had it for ~$80 with a $60 rebate. It came with a firewire card.
