Mind Reader

Didn't see this posted before. I think it's pretty cool, works most of the time. I know there are plenty of smart people here on ATOT who can tell me how it works.

Mind Reader

I think any two numbers you pick will always lead to the same symbol, and they're spaced out properly throughout the map of symbols. I forget what its called...

Found It

That was obvious, all the sets of numbers that can come up with an answer from a 2 digit number added together then subtracted etc have the same symbol.

or multiples of 9...

5 and 4, therefore 9

Simple math trick. Say the number you pick is of the form XY (i.e. X in the 10's place and Y in the 1's place).

Then, the number you picked can be represented in the form 10X + Y (For example, 23 can be represented as 10*2 + 3)

So when you add up the digits, you get X + Y.

10X + Y - (X + Y) = 9X.

Now, if you look at the symbols, all the multiples of 9 have the same symbol, which is what the 'mind reader' shows. They just switch the symbols around every time.

I knew it was based on some math formula but as I have always been pretty sh1te at math there was no way I could figure it out.😱

Not really a formula, just a play with numbers.

Good explaination. I was looking forward to answering this post, but as I scrolled down, I was saddened that you had already done the job.

I'm sorry I stole your thunder. However, I was (and still am) at work and extremely bored. I couldn't resist the temptation.

I thought it was going to be the card trick one where you watch your card, then on page two ALL the cards are different but you only notice that yours is gone...
