I wanted to make some mimosas for a brunch when I'm on vacation. Does the triple sec make the drink tastier? Better w/out?

Mimosas are typically just champagne and OJ, but I find that a shot of Grand Marnier per drink really gives it that extra delicious kick.

It would really depend on how sweet the OJ is - if were talking minute maid then no triple sec - if were talking fresh squeezed than triple sec is appreciated.

some of the recipes for it online recommended it. i didn't want to waste money on stuff i didn't need. that's what slickdeals is for.

That Wikipedia page is mistaken. It says 3 parts champagne to 2 parts OJ. In reality, it should be 8 parts champagne to 1 part OJ. And it should be served in a 72oz Big Gulp cup.

Great idea, might have to give this a try.

I like to drink my mimosas without the OJ. Much faster to desired effect.

Yes, we call that drink, "Slamming the Andre from the bottle." It's not quite a mimosa, but it's very near it's cousin, the Mad Dogg Mimosa -- Andre and Orange Jubilee Mad Dogg.
