Ok I'm on Windows 98 just Installed that MSI PhotoSuite to use with my digital camera and take pictures

then i noticed that it automatically associated GIF and JPEG images to itself and made them part of the file type PhotoSuite Image. And the old JPEG Image file type was only left for the extension JFIF

I tried to reassociate the .jpg and jpe extension to this file type but it wouldnt let me in Folder Options. So I deleted the JPEG Image file type, and re-added it

it's fine except that the MIME Type image/jpeg seems to have disappeared from the menu, and all that's left is image/bmp and image/png

and since I have the View As A Webpage feature on for my folders, when i click and image or html file it should normally show a thumbnail of it under the file size. but now it doesn't show a thumbnail for the GIF and JPEG files. I re-added both these files types but still won't show up. The MIME type for GIF, image/gif, is also gone from the list

Anyone know how to fix this? Get the default MIME types showing again, and make the thumbnails for it show up?

thumbnails for bmp files and html files are working fine... just the GIF and jpeg files are screwed.

are you talking about windows explorer ? If so try and to a restore defaults on the folders options and see if that works.

just did, and it doesn't work.

And I was talking about in My Computer, under the View Menu you can click View As A Webpage. Then it has a left sidebar for each folder. Where if you select the file it'll show it's name, file size, etc... and for images and HTML files it'll show a thumbnail

and also, how the hell did the mime type get deleted? I jsut went on my old computer with Windows 95 and my Dad's with Windows 2000 and they both have the mime type image/jpeg and it includes the extensions .jpeg, jpe, jfif and such. I can type in image/jpeg in myself but it only shows the extension .jpg and this still doesn't show the thumbnail
