could somebody PLEASE translate this into plain english?

"In computer science, the project is investigating different optimization methods which are resilient to the fault-prone, heterogeneous and asynchronous nature of Internet computing; such as evolutionary and genetic algorithms, as well as asynchronous newton methods. While in astroinformatics, Milkyway@Home is generating highly accurate three dimensional models of the Sagittarius stream, which provides knowledge about how the Milky Way galaxy was formed and how tidal tails are created when galaxies merge."

i don't know why, but my head is spinning when i try and read this!!

personally, i like to rip the wrapper off and eat the damn thing.
but, i think i'm talking about something made of chocolate there! 😀

The first 6 times i read it all i was getting was
"blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah"

I guess it boils down to, they are trying to create a more reliable client.

They must be gathering info on the Sagittarius Dwarf galaxy that is merging with our Milky Way galaxy.
"Tidal tails" are created when the arms of a spiral galaxy are gravitationally pulled toward the other galaxy.

Another example of tidal tails formed by merging galaxies. It's one of my favorite APODs:

I think your neck needs a new shear-pin!
