Yeah, you crazy Canadians and your floppy homo milk.

😛

You mean you never looked at the lable?
Also its 8% d.v. of fat though 15% for saturated fat for a cup ... basically a liquid heart attack but still not as bad as whole milk.

I know, but it skews the results since some people just vote to see the poll results even if they don't drink milk... I mean we have people drinking whole milk on that poll and I don't even know anyone that drinks that stuff. 😛

Yea when I was a kid. I remember thinking "Hm I thought the carton said 2%. Oh well"

You adapt to the taste. Now im so used to fat free its not bad at all.

I can't stand milk unless it's baked in something. Raw milk is disgusting.
You've probably never had truly raw milk - unhomogenized and unpasteurized.
A family member is all big on the big bad evil food industry, and of course all modern agriculture is bad and even toxic. ... Yeah.

So anyway, she gets raw milk, just about as near to direct-from-the-cow as you can get.

It's like liquid unsalted butter, and is slightly chunky as well.

Try that once, and you'll probably appreciate the plain milk you can buy it in a grocery store.

In any case, these things are a lifesaver. Lactose intolerance sucks, and it turns out that my normal diet included a lot of things which were dairy-based. Damn annoying though.
Evidently it's rather normal though; from what I've read, it seems that the proper term should be "lactose tolerance," since most mammals lose the ability to digest lactose once they approach or reach adulthood.

Usually 2% but whole is good if it's not available and I can tolerate 1%. Skim on the other hand doesn't IMO even qualify as a dairy product.

When I worked at a convenience store we sold more whole milk than any other variety.

I don't drink milk, but my wife drinks skim milk and that's what I use as an ingredient when I need milk.

Milk is terrible, yet ice cream is tasty.
Carrots are terrible, yet carrot cake is delicious.

It's a weird world.

Well, it's the calories you love. I'm sure you could take fecal matter and add some fat/sugar to it and someone out there would favor the taste

edit: I drink soy. One thing I like about it is that it has fat in it, but it's not saturated fat(well, not most of it anyway double ninja: actually it may not have any in it, but I don't want to check). I think the fat is what makes milk taste so good.

Skim, eveything else tastes like cream to me. I only ever have the stuff on cereal though.

soy milk tastes terrible. i don't know why people bother.

i drink 2%. or 1% chocolate milk.

I drink a lot of milk (2-3 gallons a week - more if chocolate chip cookies are involved) so I made the switch from 2% to skim some years ago. Took a bit of getting used to but I think the lower fat intake was well worth it (and I love skim milk now)

I like soy milk. I agree it's not really comparable to cow's milk, though. It's just a vanilla flavored drink. Unflavored soy milk is vile.

Though I'm currently drinking cow's milk, I drank soy milk for about a year once.

I remember vividly the first time I drank cow's milk again for the first time. It was rather disgusting. It literally tasted like I walked out into the pasture and took a big bite of... cow. It tasted exactly like cow smells. It was pretty nasty.

Though after a few drinks I didn't notice it anymore. It was weird.

i haven't tried flavored soy milk, so that's probably the problem. i've been told the vanilla variety is more palatable.

Is this a callout thread?

...waits for the milk troll.

Oh, and I studied milk for a whole 25 minutes in that thread the other day so I know what I'm talking about.

All I drink is Soy Milk, because Cow's Milk will literally shoot out my ass.

I've only ever drank Vanilla, Chocolate, or other flavoured Soy Milk though. They pretty much taste exactly like flavoured Milk, without the dire consequences.
