Military Rifle

There are some military rifles that seemingly are not for sale or have to be done through the department of some kind. I want to purchase one of this Remington M-24 SWS and I can't find any information on how to purchase one of this. Some of the rifles that I would understand such as 20mm AT Rifle and such. I find this to be a little difficult for me to obtain and I want to obtain this. Before anybody flame me or accuse me with some idiotic statements, please look up and help. I'm asking for help not some half-a$$ whiners.

I do know what I am looking for as I do own some 16 firearms in my house, and I was wondering about the LE / MIL versions and if it obtainable. That was my main concern. That's all.

And for the idiots out there M-24 SWS is pretty much .308 and I am looking to get one of these rifle and not the .50 BMG Caliber rifle. That was for comparsion purpose. Sheesh.

What are you talking about? As long as it is not fully automatic or 3 round burst you can more than l likely obtain them. I have quite a few.

What exactly about that rifle is it that you want? Remington makes a lot of 300 Win Mag rifles. What about the 700 SPS?

I want the M-24 SWS which is chambered in .308 and not .300 Win Mag. Pure and simple, I just want to own one of the M-24 and I plan on attending the NRA Long Range Rifle, and Winchester Cup. I just want one of the best rifle that money can buy. I know I can obtain something else for cheaper and might will perform as well. The issue on hand is that I want to own a Rem M-24 SWS. And the current Long Range Rifle I own and use exclusively is Savage Varmit 12 BVVS .22-250, My LR / Varmit Rifle, but I would like to use something that I can both partake in Hunting and LR Shooting Matches.

Thank you for the insight. Don't get me wrong I do like the 700 SPS. But it's not what I'm looking for.

If you want an accurate 308, what about an M1A?

You can, you just need to get a federal firearms permit and the ATF will track you wherever you go. Plus it is some serious money.

Thanks for the insights, I wasn't aware that I would need a federal permit for a M-24. I guess I could always pop the question to Remington about this. Thank you.

Hah, very funny. That was not the cause of my deafness although. I turned deaf at approximately age of 8 Mo.

And half of the firearms I own was passed on to me after my father's death. So in sense I only really own 7 firearms personally previously until now.

You can get military rifles still. I was looking at an AR-15 a few months back.
