Full Size Toggle Switches

Looks like plastic, not metal, but still, $1.50 for both the switch and cover beats $10+

Resellerratings - 7.92. Based on only 6 lifetime ratings. They've been around for several years, at least, and I've ordered from them a number of times without any problems. In fact, I placed an order just yesterday for some cables.

HA that's awesome. I need one for my car stereo system. I like the Radio Shack switch I have right now b/c it adds a "cool" factor :p. But a cover to it. . . :p

EDIT: Crap NOT HOT. $15 minimum order needed. . .

Safety covers on some military equipment were/are wired closed with fine copper wire.

I use 2 of them on my car, one for the Aftercooler Pump and one for the Aftercooler Radiator Fan. People always notice the switches in the car, but think my waterpump/alternator is going bad (its actually my Vortech S-trim under the hood)

The military part is that they have that safety cover so you cant accidently hit them, and they are large, and clearly show if they are on or off.

People like these kinda things in cars to show off equipment (as replies have shown) and some people use these in modding computers.

I don't know how these are constructed, but some AC switches don't work for DC circuits, especially under high currents.

with the large yellow and black-striped metal cover covering the giant red glowing button.

I think you mean *inter*cooler. I hope your car doesn't have an aftercooler...

I'm pretty sure he ment "aftercooler"... You can install one of these on your car if you have a supercharger installed.
aftercooler link

not all of us just upgrade our computers ;)

Should be fine as long as you dont exceed the rating. It says 6A.

HEHE, I was not able to find one of those flip covers. The kind that take a key to unlock them. If you do locate some, let me know.
Happy Modding!

you might want to look at commercial hvac - related switches. the company I work for makes hvac controls and there are 3 of the kind with a lid in the hallway (I dont remember what they do - emergency shutdown crap) just for looks, and I've got a couple in the cpu room that are emergency power shutdown switches.

I actually had to use it once. The a/c failed (yeah yeah ironic I know) and the temp got up to 155 deg. Half the servers had shut themselves down, I smacked the switch which turned everything off, then setup fans and junk to get air circulation....
