The REAL THING (Antec SX1030B) is back at Newegg Refurbs.

<< The REAL THING (Antec SX1030B) is back at Newegg Refurbs. >>

these cases are made by the same OEM. the only differences (i have one of each) are the power supply (Channel Well 420w vs Antec 300w), case fans that come with the case (Sunon vs ??, i forget what the Antec has, i'm at work), and the brand on the box. otherwise these are the same case. so don't call one "the real thing", that's not fair/accurate imho.

edit: that being said, the newegg deal is definitely better now that the prices have gone up at Cyberpower provided you are only ordering 1. if you are like me and ordering 2+, go for CP with their flat $18 shipping.

From http://www.ocworkbench.com/articles/psu/psup2.htm:

"One important thing to note on the above table is the Total Combine Output (TCO) of the two rails, which is equal to 235W. Most quality made PSU will have this note. This is an indication a comprehensive testing was conducted in the design of the PSU. If the TCO is not written on the rating label of the PSU skip on it. Some PSU will not list the two number limits on the total amps that can be carried by each of the rails instead they will just place the lower numbers from the +3.3V and +5.5V rail outputs. So it?s not unusual to see the above example to have the 10.6A and 40A as the respective maximum output rating of the +3.3V and +5.0V rails with an included note on the total combine output rating of the two rails. But new marketing gimmick uses the high ratings of the 3.3V and 5.0V rails. You can do the math on this one and most likely the total will exceed the total combine rating of the rails."

<< 3.3V:28A +5V:40A +12V:18A -12V:0.5A -5V:0.5A +5SB:2.0A >>

I think that these are the maximum output ratings - just add the wattages for the for the rails, and you get 526.9W.

What are the true ratings for the +3.3 and +5 rails?

wow.. this thread is still going...

anyways i never got around to opening the psu back up to look for pots.. I got a 350W Enhance from Newegg and the 5V is much better.. always over 5.

this psu really isn't that great... at least for what i wanted to do with it. I think a high quality 300W would perform better. And the heat being pulled off of it is much higher than the enhance when in my box... inefficient (cheap) parts.

I tried powering a peltier with it (just the pelt nothing else hooked up) and the 12V sank to 10.5V.. the current draw shouldn't be any where near the the 18A it's "rated" for.

Gonna try the enhance with the pelt and see how it fares.

For those of you who have bought it, how does the power supply compare with the one that comes with an Antec 830SX?

Well I just got mine, real nice case. Unfortunately after looking everywhere in the case it appears mine came key-less. Anyone know where I can pick up a spare set for cheap?

Finally got mine set up. It looks really great with the green case light (cold cathode). Even people who I thought would tell me it was stupid kind of stop, and say "coooool!", hehe, even my wife likes it. It doesn't seem all that much louder than my previous setup. Great buy I must say!!

The keys are in the brown little screw box that came with your case. Check in there.

heheh......so your the unlucky person whose keys i got........look back to see that i got 2 sets of keys :).....lucky me..

if you still need 1 set of keys.....pm me....and i will mail them to you......Ofcourse at minimal price (whatever you want to pay me ;) )

btw....the keys part on this thing is a joke for me......one reason to lock the case is that no one can turn it off manually.....well, you just look at the back of the case and turn the PSU switch off..LOL that simple......ofcourse other reason is to not allow anyone else to access drives.

Thanks

(Since I'm not concered with the locking mechanism); Has anyone ever looked into putting the hinge on these doors on the other side, the right side which is the correct side? Am I the only one that notices all computer cases w/swing out doors are hinged on the wrong (left) side??????????? This is ridiculous! We all access our cases from the left side, correct? That means for easy access, they are (or should be) to the right of us, on the right hand side so the left side of the case is exposed for easy access. OK......now when you try to put a disk in the PC in one of the drives, you have to swing the door out towards yourself, into your face, and reach around it or under it, to install or remove a CD, instead of the logical way with the door being hinged on the right side swinging AWAY from you.

Rabb, I checked that box and in the case front to back. No go.

gsethi, ya the keys are kind of pointless. The only reason I want them is so I can lock the side door so i dont kick it open and for transport.

Still a real nice case even without the keys, i'm just glad it didn't come locked :)

I got mine yesterday and to my surprise it came with a window installed and I didn't pay the extra $ for it. I was gonna put a window in it anyway but don't need to now. I seen a sticker on top of box that said "side panel w/window" but didn't actually think it would be but sure enough it was. About the keys, I also received 2 sets. I like it and glad I got in before they jacked the prices up!

Peace

I have two of these for sale (black and silver). i didn't need these cases but i bought them anyway. now i want to sell them to get my money back. I'll sell them for $70 each. These are for pick up only. I live in Westminster, CA.
They haven't been used or tested since i don't have an extra motherboard. I just opened the box to check for the contents so they're still brand new. Please e-mail (don't PM, it's a pain getting into my PM box) me if you're interested.

I would just like to say that I got the window and light and the window came (VERY NICELY) installed. It looks almost just like the picture but not quite as large above the handle. I saw the pic of the window of the guy who installed it himself and it is NOTHING like that at all. the window is all on the inside and is bolted in, there is no rubber seal. The light is in a box and its all set up, you just have to plug in it and mount it with either screws or double sided sticky things.

The only problem I had with them was that they shipped via airborne (lol i am retarded, i mix those up all the time) express and my mom wasnt home when they tried to deliver so I had to drive to the airport to pick it up and got lost :( lol

American Express if your credit card company........Airborne Express is your shipping company
