Don't worry about it.. there's a alot of fanboys among fanboys in this dev community. It's actually quite scary. Bottom line, just use what works perfectly for you.

Synergy is awesome. I've been running it since last night. I do miss the customization I had in CM7 with Launcher Pro, but I like what I'm seeing so far.

hey they mention SD card partition setup on this one. what do I need to set on my SD card on this one? I didnt do anything but put a new one in there before when I did this ROM here.

Honestly, I've found CM to be pretty buggy.

Last time I tried it, GPS was hosed... So I've been using Fresh since then.

The GPS issue was mainly an AOSP rom issue with the evo. It happened all across the board with all aosp roms on the evo. It was a strange issue as some solutions worked for some and not others. Off the top of my head, there were 3 different solutions for users to try.

zsdersw, that's the standard with sense roms. Synergy is about 290MB. I remember the HTC Kingdom sense 3.0 dump was about 500MB.

Yup, all I did to fix it was make a nandroid backup of CM7, install a Sense ROM, update some settings, and then restore the nandroid backup. A slight PITA but nothing major if you're familiar with the process of installing and backing up ROMs.

This MikG ROM really has me curious--I will probably give it a test over the long weekend. I watched a YouTube video of it that looked pretty sweet although the video quality was pretty shitty.

There's no point comparing this to an aosp like cm7. The point of this rom, like cvsin mentioned above, is if you want a sense rom.

Why anyone would want a sense rom is beyond me. It's basically AOSP with htc sense overlay. MEH.

I've had no issues with gps since cm 6.X, right before CM7 and onward. I use CM7 with the latest Tiamat kernel and can unplug my phone with stock battery from the charger at 5:30 in the morning, use it all day, and still have 50% battery when I go to bed at night. It will use about 5-8% if I dont charge it up all night so I could probably wait until noon or later to charge it up again. Compared to stock that was useable for about 6 hours tops.

And everything works. 4G is still really flaky with AOSP on the Evo. The GPS isn't fully fixed. No EPST commands, which are really useful to resolve the GPS issue, too. Can't update PRL/profile.

Visually, Sense looks good to a lot of people. I'm one of them, I will admit, even though I run an AOSP ROM. The Sense widgets are very good as well, although the Launcher Pro widgets have been able to replace them for me in most applications.

Basically, I have to flash back to a Sense ROM to fix some of these issues. I love CM7 especially, but I can entirely understand why someone would stick with a Sense ROM.

Ditto. I ran Sense for about 5 months after getting my Evo and it actually worked fairly well and offered a few improvements over stock Android. Most importantly, it doesn't get in the way unlike other OEM overlays from what I've read.

4g works perfectly for me with CM7, I don't know what you are talking about. GPS _IS_ fully fixed and I've not had any issues with it not locking on in a second or two. The only downside is PRL/profile updating as you stated, but prl's aren't released that often and its a simple issue to use rom manager and flash back to sense, update, and go back to AOSP.

Synergy blows both CM7 and MiKG out of the water so far..
with the cast of devs on it basically the allstars of the mod scene its no wonder why.

everything works flawlessly just like stock only faster better and rooted..

I loved the MiKG 2.1 but this is way better. even have the carousel working in Sense 3.0.

badass.

Curiosity got the best of me so I backed up my CM7 setup and flashed MikG 2.15 last night. Using what I think is the stock kernel linked to from the XDA page, this ROM is noticeably snappier than CM7 on my 0002 model Evo. I like it and plan to stick with it unless battery life is poor. LOVE the weather and photo lockscreens (yes, I'm a graphics whore).

Just one random issue I encountered that isn't a dealbreaker for me. In making sure all my apps work, I couldn't reinstall Airport Mania which I got when it was the Amazon free app of the day--trying to do so caused a hot reboot every time.

If Synergy is indeed even better than this, it will be an awesome day when the stable final build of that is released. I loved Myn's Warm RLS5 and look forward to seeing what the modding "all-star" team can do.
