MikG v2.00 - Re-Engineered GB Sense 2.1 + 3.0

Holy Bejusus this rom is the fastest I've put on my EVO, outside of no 3d carousel Rosie animation it's perfect IMHO. It doesn't require partitioning the SD card like all the other Sense 3.0 roms. I'm just shocked at how fast my phone is with this rom.

I saw one the other day with this ROm and it was Super fast..

they told me I was screwed though because I already factory upgraded to gingerbread.
I just found out I'm not going to be able to get the 3D so I kinda want to try this ROM. but not sure how I can do it..

it was very freaking cool though...
is there a way to get my phone back down to a rootable version? or is there a way coming soon to use the gingerbread?

I tried 1.01 all the way to 1.4, and I kept getting low memory issues. Hopefully this fixes it.

I'm running 1.03 right now since I'm getting the 3D and don't feel like doing another full wipe. But I agree that this is a pretty awesome ROM.

I don't think there is a root method available for the latest update yet, and there isn't any way to downgrade (that I know of).

rooted my first Andriod device and flashed it to this rom..

boss hooked me up with his old EVO to play with..

so far so good.. lots of reading haha.

device is booting up for first time now on this rom.. dig the new boot screen and everything else.. but having an issue with the regular market working. it wont dload anything.

any ideas?

I'll have to give this one a try. I've been running Koni's Elite for a while and have been very happy with it. But evidently he is done developing so time to move on to something else.

I got around to installing it this morning, and your right, this thing flies. I absolutely love the weather lock screen. Definitely my new daily driver.

It's basically the same idea as MikG. aamikam (dev of MikG) even assisted them in development.

Synergy is also a frankenstein sense rom like MikG. It's based off of the evo, evo shift, desire hd, and kingdom. Mostly Sense 2.1 with Sense 3.0

I haven't been on MikG since v1.01 so I can't really tell you the differences between the two at this point. But back then, they were very similar. Synergy does have it's own updater app that also has support for addons and themes which is a little fancy. Other than that, I'd say maybe just make a nandroid backup of what you got now and take Synergy for a spin for a few hours and see if you like it.

Truthfully, I'd say Synergy and MikG will be the most popular sense roms for the evo. Unless Calkulin (EViO) and flipzmode (Fresh) decide to do something new. At this point, the two roms are extremely similar.. the next thing to look forward to would probably be a perfect port of the carousel rosie from sense 3.0 and of course, kernels when htc releases the source.

I read up on Synergy, looks like it's missing the 3d carousel and a few other things. I'm still going to try it as I've flashed every other EVO rom I could find, so why not this one too
I hope the dude who did Warm Z makes his skin for this, Twopointtwo looked super slick imho.

Coincidentally, myn (Warm Z, Twopointtwo) is the one who released this. Look at the author of the op. He just didn't theme it up like he did in his last two roms. He mentioned that he and the team who worked on this, will use this as a base and they'll do as they wish afterwards. I assume he'll do it once it goes final.

My best friend's boyfriend installed this rom on his Evo... and all I can say is "meh". I'm not seeing how this is any faster than CM7 (which I'm using on my Evo).

I hate you. I had just finished setting up mike's and now you post that. It looks to offer some real improvements with the updater for rom, addons, and themes. It looks like it's going to be very well supported. Off to Titanium.....

Sense 3.0 offers some massive improvements. I was never a fan of regular sense and replaced it with other launchers. This just rocks. The lock screens, the new messaging app, the app screen changes. This really puts me in a conundrum. I have not been impressed with HTC's recent offerings(namely the 3D crap on the new EVO) and have been planning on a SG2, but wow this software is nice.

That's not exactly true imho, this rom's definitely faster than CM7 on my EVO. Even if I'm using LPP I feel a speed difference. I see zero reason anyone with an HTC phone would use CM7 over a rom like MikG's. The 1st week I had this rom installed I didn't even use the Sense launcher, I stuck to LPP. My phone still feels slow'ish in my eyes though, but eventually Android will get to a point where it doesn't feel like that to me. I hope any ways.

And Sense 3 is massively better than the previous versions, I've stopped using LPP for the 1st time ever since playing with it. Sense 3 + Myn's 2.1 Rosie bar skin = uber goodness.

Well, you have to know that all phones don't behave the same. It sounds crazy, but reading through alot of threads, it happens.

Try going into the CM7 thread in xda and tell them that sense is faster than CM7.

I have and they don't listen, I've used both extensively so I comment based off what I've witnessed with my own eyes having used both. They tell me I'm wrong or accuse me of being a flat out liar. I can only speak on what I've seen. They got very offended when I brought it up, apparently CM7 fans are an offset of Phandroids all in themselves. lol. THey also all scoff when I tell that UD was quicker on my Droid 1. I guess I'm just always wrong

I still stand behind what I said, MikG's rom is the fastest I've ever used period.
