Mikes Hard lemonade

DETROIT (AP) - An Ann Arbor man and his wife have filed a complaint with the state Child Protective Services after a "mistake" at the ballpark separated him from his son.

Christopher Ratte recently took his 7-year-old son, Leo, to a Detroit Tigers game. They stopped at a concession stand to buy some lemonade. But it wasn't until late in the game when a security guard asked Ratte about the bottle of Mike's Hard Lemonade in his son's hand.

Ratte says he told the guard he had no idea that the lemonade contained alcohol.

Leo spent two days in state custody and it was nearly a week before his father was able to move back home. Ratte said child protective workers told him an intervention was unnecessary but they were just following orders.

Most Child Protective Services entities are zealots anyway - as obviously confirmed by the following line:

Ratte said child protective workers told him an intervention was unnecessary but they were just following orders.

They are better at screwing up families' lives than they are protecting children most of the time. God forbid you ever want to discipline your child in any way other than giving them ice cream and a hug.

yeap.

though its not as bad as it was in the 70-80's where they were makeing up abuse charges on everyone they could.

This guy obviously didn't party in school. Everyone knows that the all the ladies be puttin' out when they drink fruity sh!t like that.

I saw this on CNN. It was pretty obvious that the guy had no clue there was alcohol in it. They showed the sign and it said, "Mike's Lemonade." I can easily see older adults never hearing about it so the guy just thought he was ordering lemonade. Heck, he could have confused it with Jones' soda.

Ive been out of state and have people have no idea what Mikes Hard Lemonade is. But from my 1 visit to Michigan, it didnt seem that people are too bright out there.

i can see the mistake. i mean why would he give it to his 7 year old in public otherwise? but really, any beverage that says, "Hard" means it contains alcohol. hard cider anyone?

Well, the sign didn't say it was "hard" when he ordered it and I doubt he studied the bottle before handing it to his kid.

how do you know that? he very well didn't read the sign correctly and just focused in on "Lemonade".

and the word "Hard" just screams at you on the bottle. even handing it someone you'd see the word.

because they showed the actually sign on CNN. It was a very small sign that didn't have room to put "Mike's Hard Lemonade" so it just read "Mike's Lemonade." It looked like it was just on one of those mini-vendors in the stadium.
