Migrating to a new computer using OpenSuse 11.4

I want to upgrade my computer but I don't want to reformat. I plan on setting up OpenSuse on the new PC to confirm it works but then I want to move my drives over. I am doing a software mirror RAID. Anyone ever do it? I guess this could be my opportunity to migrate back to Debian or CentOS but everything seems to work fine in OpenSuse for me.

Maybe you could backup the data to another drive, and rebuild RAID on your new computer. That's all I've got. I don't know much about RAID.

I would bet that as long as the mdadm package is installed it'll just come right up and you'll have to tell it where to mount it. I've moved drives around between ports within a PC and whole PCs and as long as all the drives can be found the array comes right up.
