Just feel a little light headed now, the pain hasn't begun. Well I take that back as I'm typing this it is starting! I don't remember seeing an aurora like this in a really long time. This sucks too because the only thing I have available is oxycodone and ibuprofen!

Yes. I get auroras which make me feel sick for about 15 mins before a migraine...then about 15 mins no symptoms...then BAM, pain, nausea, etc..

yes for auras here. Take your pills right when you get them and it minimizes suffering. I use Zomig and it works wonders for me.

What caused it for you ? Did you have any MSG foods ?

i don't get migraines, but I have experienced some pretty painful headaches focused near the back of my head slightly to the left. Its probably a tumor but hey whatever.

Good question on the cause. I haven't had this happen in a really long time.

Don't even get me started on food!
after you start getting killer ones (almost literally) multiple times a year, you'll want to figure out why. Took me over a year. ;)

Had that happen nearly six years ago. Walking along then all in a sudden BAM! Felt like someone jabbed me in the back of my head with an icepick. Next thing I remember was waking up in a hospital bed. After a CT, MRI and a spinal tap nothing was found. A few months later and the problem went away although I still on occasion get much more typical headaches perhaps once a month if that.

The auroras are gone and the pain is dull but here I wait for the thunder to come! Hopefully it does not.

Identical. I guess if auroras are eye swirls etc in the eye, definitely. Sometimes that eye would completely black out as well and my arm may go numb. Within 1/2 hour of them starting, a boulder would seem to land on my head. Once I vomitted tho, it stopped getting worse.

when i used to get them i did. At that stage i'd take as much painkiller as possible, then go to bed.

Wow. I never knew migraines could cause aurora effect.

I get headaches regularly. Sometimes really bad ones (which until reading this thread thought were migraines).

I kill it with Excedrine.

I'm having one right now.

I've had visual migrainse since I was a child. I had no idea what was going on until I was about 20 or so and was able to find info online about them. (Yes I had told doctors about them as a kid, except I thought it was a vision problem).

Generally mine do not cause significant pain. But I do have painful migraines, too.

I can barely read the screeen atm.

I was about to go into my whole migraine-experience schpiel (sp?) and noticed it was an old thread (to which I've already replied)... but I'll add this - I find it funny that the process is so alike in so many of us yet they (the doctors) have yet to figure out the real cause for migraines.

yeah I actually used the search button :p

Aurora (or is it aura?) is pretty much gone now within the last couple of minutes.

Unfortunately, visual migraines are the least of my health concerns. But they are fascinating.
