We got a Sebo X4 with some cosmetic damage that someone (rich) was throwing out. At first I thought, wow, it looks like old piece of junk. But then I googled it, and daaamn, it's $700 dollars new. Sheet.

That's how I got my dyson. Lady was tossing it because the electrical cord had been chewed through by her dog. 10 minutes later I was off vacuuming.

Replaced my Dyson Animal for a Shark Rocket Ultralight. Portable, can get under furniture, bagless, great suction and can remove the main nozzle to use as a portable vacuum in the car.

OP - spending all this money on fancy house stuff for a tiny studio. Hilarious.

I go with what the professionals use. There's a reason they use them.

http://www.amazon.com/Oreck-Commerc...433143527&sr=8-14&keywords=lightweight+vacuum

Those made for consumer models are not built to last. We empty the bag on the Oreck like once every 9 months. Lightweight. Powerful suction. Cheaper than other "high performance" models. GTFO. :D

The miele might be good though. Those Dysons are the perfect example of ripoffs. They are just "Apple-ing" consumers with vacuums.

I have an XT, someone left it by the curbside along with extra bags. I figured it probably needed a cord repaired or a new belt but much to my surprise it was in 100% perfect working order, I think the fact that it lacks attachments must have made them buy a different vac because the XL just kick's ass, one pass and it gets everything. It's a 2004 model.

I know people hate on Dyson for being overpriced, but I got one for $150-200 off their EBay clearance and it has been one of the best purchases I've made.

That's not bad at all, even when you get into the better Bissel and Eureka brands your well over $125.

yeah, no kidding

Bullshit. Y'all would, one way of another. A vacuum or an expensive and thorough cleaner.

I have three Neato robotic vacuums, one for each level of the house, and one for out guest house and office in the back. They are not dumb robots like the iRobot Roomba. They map a room and follow a specific cleaning route via a laser guidance system. The first clean the perimeter of a room, then methodically clean the interior of the room in a back-and-forth manner. None of that bouncing around bullshit. Once they complete a room, they move to the next room that they identified. They also learn your house over time, building a more and more accurate map of your floor plan, and they also identify areas with mobile objects, such as chair legs around a table, toys in a playroom, etc. They automatically return to a charging base to charge or when the dust canister is full.

Best fucking investment ever. The maid doesn't have to spend time vacuuming the house and, instead, can merely empty the dust canisters and spot clean. With that time, she can organize, arrange, etc.

Well, I've either got bedbugs, fleas, or something else in this apartment. I have to advance my vacuum purchase to within the next few days to get this place clean.

I'll probably be buying the Miele C3 Kona since it's next to top of the line and has all the features I really care about. Gonna be throwing down about $1,000 for that... :( (Seems I can't avoid sales tax if I want the thing within the next couple days. I'll probably buy it locally just to get it same day.)

Are you hoping the parasites will get super jelly of your latest purchase, pack up, and head to a more modest household? Good luck with that...

But not having a vacuum will be worse.

Alright, Get the vacuum. It'll wipe all living creatures in your apartment. Once they get sucked into the vacuum there is some sort of gas chamber effect in the filter box that takes care of them. Does the box say so? I'll be waiting patiently for an update.

Ordered the vacuum. It was about $836. Miele C3 Kona. I got a 10% discount on it and paid no sales tax. It'll arrive next week.

Of course, I will be taking some countermeasures to the fleas starting tomorrow but none that require vacuuming within the next week.

It's still painful to watch in reality.

but mostly BS I guess.
