I'll hafta make this short--I'd like to get to bed soon ;)

Anyhow, I'm hosting a lan party in Rockford, IL (northern center of IL) at the end of June. Rockford is only 80-90 miles west of Chicago, so anyone close enough and willing to make the drive is welcome to come :)

Tons of info (hopefully useful) is available at our website:
SAK-Lan.com

It's the first larger one I'm hosting, but I have faith that it'll go great. Should be a great time. Pls check out the site if you live purdy close and want some more info. Also, feel free to ask me any questions in the thread via PM or Email. That's it for now, I'll check this thread frequently!

P.S. - A bump for a lan party always works too ;)

Coo, hope ya do come man. There's gonna be a shiteload of stuff to do. Gonna use the projector for gaming and movies, etc. The soundsystem will play music part of the time, etc etc. If you wanna come just click on the Register link on the site, fill out a couple simple things and ur added to the attendees list!

Speaking of the list--here's how it works:

Currently 70 slots (could be increased)
The first 70 ppl on the Players List on the site have a seat at the lan for sure.
Anyone that prepays is guaranteed a seat and is moved up to the top of the list immediately following the last person to pre-pay.
Anyone beyond #70 will be shown in a diff color and are on stand-by :)

They have to rent the school I suppose along with the use of the projector and stuff. Power consumption is gonna be high and there are two meals included along with drinks all day long. He mentioned a possible cable internet hookup also.

I'm hoping most ppl will prepay and save themselves $5. This pretty much guarantees they will show up as most ppl wouldn't want to make a donation for nothing ;)

This is my first lan, so I'm not quite sure how much everything is going to cost. I haven't started accepting money yet, so I may lower the prices to $25 and $20. The costs are food, snacks, drinks, payed employee of the venue (has to be present) and the venue itself (school is going to get a certain %)

The rest of the money is going to go to the next event, which will hopefully be in June. If there is actually a decent amount of money left over after this one, I'll be able to lower the prices a lot for the next one :) Also, if the food and everything winds up coming out to a lot less than I am planning, I'll order breakfast for everyone on sunday morning (the admission covers lunch and dinner on saturday) :)

Currently 30 registrants, could definitely use more :)
I've gotten nearly 10 new ones in less than 24 hours, so thats a good sign
