Midway selling MK IP

I can totally understand offloading MK, but the keeping $4 mil in bonuses bc you met "performance incentives" and offloading people to unemployment is just fvcked up. Too bad all the games Midway has made recently has sucked balls, but I guess that explains their current predicament.

Midway's management since the late 90s has made some mindboggling dumb decisions.. The company was full of profitable franchises that they just unbelievably tanked.

what the Makers of MK need to do.. is bring MK back to its roots. a good old school 2D fighter. with 3-5 cool moves per guy.. none of this 37 moves depending on which fighting style the guy had.

Street fighter has stood the test of time. look at SF4... each MK that comes out just seems like a rehashed version of the last.

anyone else in agreement?

I kind of do. I like it back then with the sick nasty fatalities, but even so i liked SF series more. Not because of one game being better than the other or anything, it was just I could never execute the Fatalities. =P But I hope the company that picks up the MK license does well with it.

It is pathetic that the same management who ran the company into the ground is getting big bonuses, while the regular employees who just did what they were told and produced the actual goods are getting fired. Disgusting.

That being said, I've heard that MK VS DC is a step in the right direction. Personally, I'd prefer a game with a solid gameplay foundation and toned down gore. It was "cool" when I was a kid, but now that I've grown up and have a family of my own, I see how stupid and unnecessary it was.

I guess that was the appeal of the MK franchise, but they started going in the direction of over-the-top gore and sucky gameplay. 1 & 2 were solid, and then it was all downhill from there.

LOL ROBOT NINJAS x30!
