I hooked mine up to my TV, they work just fine if you aren't way to into the Home theater sound thing, I'd say they improved my overall Movie viewing pleasure alot, and they work just fine, in fact a bit better than fine for the money.

I've had mine a lil over q month now. I ordered them the night I posted the thread. They sound awesome and I'm very satisfied.

A problem with the decoder has surfaced. Sometimes you can't change the volume and other features on the remote dont work. It isn't a problem with the remote, as the remote still powers the unit off. It seems to be power-on-time related, as the ONLY way to fix it is to turn the unit off and sometimes unplug the DC-in from the rear for a moment and let the power 'drain' then re-insert the DC power.

It's happened twice since I've owned them, although maybe I shouldn't leave them on all the time.

Other than that, they decode AC3 PERFECT from my DVD player optical on, my nforce2's coax in, and my TV/VCR's analog in. I would definately say there is over 100-watts rms in this system considering how much they shake the house.

I was asked to post this by someone who couldn't for some reason ;)

"I got these a little while ago, it seems that the majority of these sets of speakers from compgeeks have 1 sattelite with a broken grille. Over at Hardocp there was a thread about this. It is either the packaging/shiping or they are shipping refurbished units. Mine had one with a collapsed grille, but there were no pieces floating around in there, it wasn't that noticeable, and it sounded fine so I decided to keep it. Be warned though, if you buy these be prepared to have 1 (or possibly more) collapsed grille(s). These sound great in my opinion, but the minimum volume is too loud, the person in the next room can hear them. There were some reviews, such as the one at 3dss.com(has the best review of this set, BTW) that said there was a problem with 3d surround sound in games with analog connections. I can't say wether this is true or not because I use an NForce 2 board which outputs everything in Dolby Digital. If you also have an NForce 2 board with soundstorm and digital out these speakers are perfect to go with it. My decoder doesn't have any problems, and the remote does its job just fine. The bass is pretty good, and so are the highs but they are lacking a little. Maybe zik got a dud set. In all, these are well worth the money."

after inspection i had indeed a collapsed grill on my rear left.

there is no vibration of any sort and it sounds good, interesting...

(note that these are under warranty, you could mail the speaker in for a replacement)

Got my speakers within a few days. No broken grills. They sound great. Only problem was the third power button. Didn't even realize there was one until I accidently pressed it. Who knew that the nice logo on the sub was actually a button. Anyways, worth the money !
