Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor looks awesome

I'll likely play this but would definitely like to see a Bethesda type treatment on a Middle Earth IP one day.

As for QTE, I don't mind them if I actually know they're part of the game. What drives me nuts is when I'm watching a cut scene and then unexpectedly a 'press x' or something pops up on the screen. I may not even have my controller in hand at the time. Pretty annoying.

Lol I have done that. First time I played Shenmue on Dreamcast I had an "oh #@$%" moment and fumbled around to press left or whatever but watched myself get pummeled.

Bump because supposedly this is due out at the end of the month according to wiki and amazon... at least for PC and next gen. Haven't heard much else about it so I'm a little worried, but the gameplay vids I've seen have all looked like something I'd enjoy. More games is always a good thing.

I'm interested in this one, but not enough to make me buy a PS4. Hopefully they don't make it too much like Assassin's Creed.

Actually saw some ads for it this weekend, so I guess that release date is firm and they're trying to generate interest. I'll be looking at reviews before jumping on this one though.

I hate that with a passion. How about game makers just make a riveting cut scene that will hold my interest without having to throw a gimmick in to engage me? Is that asking too much?

I think part of that is to make you pay attention. I know a lot of people who walk away during the story parts of a game and then ask questions about where to go or why this guy appeared.

Well that's just stupid. I know people like that and I refuse to catch them up on the plot of anything they can't bring themselves to sit still for long enough to watch.

just think about how many more "gameplay" hours they could have said MGS4 had if they added a couple of those in the cutscenes. the game would have quadrupled in "gameplay" time had they done this!

I was planning on skipping this because I figured Destiny was going to take my life over but since it's disappointing, I'm really looking at this game but will most likely wait for reviews for this since games tied to movies/books usually aren't great.

The reviews are coming in... And they are fantabulous!

Oh wow...means I will be taking a break from destiny soon for this. I am just saddened that the campaign missions are "unexciting"

Well they cant be any worse than Destiny's
Nice troll. They are two entirely different types of games.

What I was saying is that this is one game I was looking forward to with expectations that can pull me off destiny for a bit. Nothing more. I was simply commenting that the missions for the campaign are not exciting according to IGN which to me was the only reason I would even buy it. The game is entirely single player. There is nothing online at all.

Having an opinion you do not like doesnt mean it is a troll. You mention the missions as unexciting(which may be true) and I just pointed out they couldnt be worse than the ones in Destiny(my opinion) and you really like that so I would think you could like this as well

No it is a troll when I simply state that I will play this and not destiny for a bit and you trash destiny in a thread unrelated to destiny. We have a destiny bash fest thread already.

To expand on how they are different. Middle earth is entirely solo. You have no co-op or MP of any kind. The story is really important in those types of games. Destiny has stuff I can do with friends and the story doesn't make as much difference because of that.

Well we have to disagree, you are way into Destiny so of course you will say that. You seem to be way too emotionally invested in the game, way too defensive

Whatever...I see no reason to make the comment you made, not at all.

When a game is played solo and the story is not exciting as IGN put it...its worse than a game that has an aspect of multiplayer. Period

hahaha you guys crack me up. arguing that opinions are wrong now. it's okay for ign to say the missions are unexciting in the LOTR game, but if someone says destiny missions are unexciting, they are wrong and trolling.

you guys argue about anything.

this game looks pretty awesome. it has totally flew under the radar too. i doubt i will play it though with fh2, sunset overdrive, and ki season 2 right around the corner. sounds like it is a longer game too. just won't have time for it.

I am not arguing opinions. I am saying that the comment is uncalled for and that games that have no MP at all have a problem when the story is not exciting. Unless the game is similar to skyrim, it may be short lived for me even though I will buy it and play it.

lol ok if that makes you sleep better at night.

are you now going to ground him and put him in timeout?

it's not like he's in the destiny thread trolling that thread - he's in a thread about LOTR saying that the missions in this game can't be as boring as the missions in destiny were TO HIM.

I'll get it new for sure. I am just getting it on PC though which saves me $10 off the top since it is $49.99. I have been waiting for it and the reviews seem pretty good anyhow. The videos of the combat looked great from what I watched too which is a plus for the game.
