middle click in IntelliPoint?

Hi

I have a really stupid question acctually, I want to assign a mouse button in the "IntelliPoint" program for my Microsoft mouse to do a middle click when I press it. But I can´t find middle click in the pop-up manu in the program where you assign buttons.

If i remember correctly, you can`t set it to middle button. Set it something like double click.
Some games, will detect it as middle mouse button or mouse3 however.

The middle button is called the "wheel button" in the intellipoint software.

nah, unless im just missing it thats the weird thing about more recent intellipoint. My first intellimouse the middle/wheel button was called wheel button, my new intellimouse it is default as shift, and theres no wheel button option in the menu. Another weird thing i noticed, and the reason i also had to update Intellipoint when I replaced my Intellimouse; is the left and right side buttons of the new mouse didnt work with the older Intellipoint software, needed the new one (old intellipoint with older mouse was fine, and cant otherwise see any difference between the two).

Dunno how relevant this is, but i had actually changed the midddle button function to shift for IE, for quicker "open in new window". For games, or any other app that lets you assign keys, assign the wheelbutton to any other key you do not use, and then ingame just bind/alias/assign that key to whatever function you want for the wheelbutton.
