You will get a wide range of answers on this. But 99.9% of all the folks on this forum are experienced, have built their own systems and know what works. Any major manufacturer will produce a decent midtower case. The differences lay in power supply wattage, number of external and internal drive bays, fans, ventilation options and things like that.

Personally, I'm using the Antech KS-282 midtower case. It has an AMD-approved 300-watt power supply and decent ventilation. Some simple case mods turn it into an excellent air-flowing case. As it comes from the factory, it will do you fine with everything up to an AMD 1000 TBird. Providing you're not overclocking. (That's why I modded my case a little)

As I said, you will get different opinions on this question. Nobody is right and nobody is wrong (on this forum anyway!). Antech, Enlight and others all make great cases. You did the right thing by asking. The folks on this forum helped me build my first home-made (I still haven't figured out a cool name to call it  ) system.

The Enlight 7237 is a pretty nice case and pretty cheap also.
There's the Antec SX830 but thats more of a "super" mid tower (taller than most others)

The Antec sx830 or sx1030 are between mid and full tower sizes. They are excellant. Look in hot deals forum, I thought I saw the sx830 for around $95 shipped, and the sx1030 for around $10 more.

Enlight 7237 for the Case (find it WITHOUT the Powersupply for cheaper).
Antec PP303X (300Watt) for the Power Supply.

KICKASS combo right there. That's what I'm running and that's what I built my Brother's computer on and that's what I'm going to build my Mom's computer with as well.

Can anyone comment on the Aopen HX45 vs the 7237? I've built 2 computers with the HX45 and just wonder why the 7237 is better. What about the drive rails on the 7237? I remember hearing some bad things about them a while ago.

Anyone have any pointers on *where* to buy the 7237 sans PS?

I like the Antec KS-282 300w followed by the Enlight 7237 300w. A little more room in the Antec and no rails.

If you are looking for a larger tower closer to the full-size range the Antec SX830 or SX1030 I would go for. If you are looking for straightup midtower I'd have to agree with those who said the Antec KS282, it'a nother high-quality case from Antec, I used to use that case until I moved on up to the SX1030. I would also check out the Palo Alto ATCX case, it runs about the same price that the KS282 does. Anand has a review someplace on the sight of this case, and he gives it a thumbs up as well. Palo Alto and Antec are the only brands I use for cases anymore.

The Casedge seems like a good case. Although, the Inwin S500 is basically the same thing for $15 less. Fong Kai also makes some really nice cases if you're not into doing any modifications.
