You're looking for general hardware, but in general I would say if you're going to OC spend the extra 25% on the CPU for a hexacore,. as it's 50% more cores and overclocks much better than the 955.

Vidcard for 10$ more: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...1%20GB%20GDDR5

I might buy the Zotac variant for displayport or the gigabyte for the custom cooling solution.

They have 470s for 270$ if that sounds interesting.

Good PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139005

Cooler, look for a deal on a Hyper 212+ or check the cooling forum for a stickied list of top coolers.

well i guess i don't need to over clock, but review on that 955 on newegg says the guy overclocked it to 2.8 ghz with the stock HSF. I'm not looking to get into major overclocking.. Just thought I'd save some money.

That vid card you linked, thats not the same as the one I linked on amazon, which is the overclocked version. Right?

Is the 470 upgrade worth the extra 60 bucks?

I might get a new monitor later on, since i see they have new ones out like 120hz and stuff. Current one is a dell 24" wide 60hz lcd. Might be worthit to upgrade to a better monitor considering the computer upgrade

Actually, no it's not. Sorry. Here's an OC gigabyte with a nice custom cooling solution for the same price.

Depends on your resolution and gaming needs.

Sounds like the Dell is nice, what model number? 120hz LCDs are all TN panels and IMO not worth it, even with the 120hz refresh rate.
